Mac Jones-QB-Jaguars

Nothing I said there is incorrect. He's simply not athletic, he will never have that part of playing QB like half the league does now. Cosell has said he simply can't make off platform throws or off script plays. He needs to have his mechanics and feet set to make the throws you want...get him off his base and on the move and we're in trouble.

he's a great processor and can throw an accurate ball...that's about it. He doesn't have a "live arm" as Cosell calls it.

if Kyle can't develop a high end talent at QB well then he's not some QB guru...even Reid knew he needed more than a good system QB.

I don't even know what that means? He's not as good as the other 4 QBs. It's a MASSIVE reach. I expect whatever QB we draft will have success, some more than others.

i never once said I hate Jones or thinks he's trash. I said giving up 3 1sts for him and not taking one of the other QBs is trash.

He's simply not better than the other options. I don't think he's a trash QB, I do not ever see being a top 5 QB in this league...you don't give up all that for him especially when you're planning on playing Jimmy this yr.

I don't think he will fail, I think all these QB would have success in SF...just massively different degrees of success.

Agreed. Top 20 I think is reasonable (like Jimmy). But you don't give up that much for top 20.

Seems like a little bit of backtracking from the Holiday Inn Express brigade to me.

How's that? Top 20 meets your expectations of #3 overall and two lost first rounders? Awesome. Aim low.

i don't think people realize actually how small Mac is compared to all the other QBs people are trying to compare him too...

There is a discrepancy in the data, your link says he ran 4.83 but Alabama says he ran 4.7
Plus 217 lbs is not small, and with a good weight training program should be able to put on 10 lbs = 227 lbs

Tom Pelissero
Numbers from Alabama QB Mac Jones' pro day submitted to the league:
Height: 6-2 5/8
Weight: 217
40-yard dash: 4.72, 4.68
Vertical jump: 32 inches
Broad jump: 9 feet, 8 inches
Shuttle: 4.39
3-cone: 7.04

Has nothing to do with my expectations but top 20s a far cry from the narrative thats been being pushed around here for weeks.
Lol DJ thinks Jones at 9 is too high...he's barely got him as a 1st rd prospect, yet we gave up 3 1sts and fans are suppose to rally behind that?

It's the same almost exactly to what everyone says about Mac Jones. Doesn't make him Brady but since it always seems to be a coin toss on who will make it or not I wonder. There is no best way to evaluate a QB but life has show me you look to the greats and look for a pattern and then try to use that to decide.
What do you guys think ? Is it a coincidence or sign they each have the same evaluations pre-draft?

Like you said Mac is not Tom, and won't be for a very long time, if ever (unless we all don't see something only Kyle sees). I go back to Nick Mullens and his noodle arm, statue athleticism, and sub par intangibles. If Kyle can develop a guy like that to beat Seadderall, imagine what Kyle can do with a guy that has first round talent. (that goes for all three QBs by the way).

oh weird his school said he ran faster...dude it's a pro day, every scout adds a .1-.15 to a 40 did you not say how many sub 4.4 40s we had this season?

I use mockdraftable for all combine numbers. 217lbs is not big at all. He's the same size as Jared Goff. Even Jimmy is bigger than him.

People can't comp combine 40s to pro day 40s or say well Manning ran this 40, yeah at 230lbs lol.

he's simply not athletic. He doesn't play athletic. Is what it is, no need to pretend like he is we all watch the games. Same thing with his arm talent, it's not in the same realm as the other 4...he wins in other ways

I believe it's traditionally .05 added to a proday number.
