Stidying film

Uh huh.....those guys did that on top of hitting the weights.

Human potato.

If a QB looks like that, it's pretty clear that he doesn't take the job seriously. He probably thinks he can be a pro in the NFL while treating it like a 9-5 (with a 2 hour lunch at the buffet).

Lazy, uncommitted, no desire to win, and no natural athletic ability to overcome it. Do not want.

Lance and Fields may not have as much between the ears, but at least they look like they give a damn.

If being fat wins you a national championship, let's hope Mac is even fatter so he can win a super bowl.

I'm sure they did. But it's been said Mac was next level prepared (due to his studying)
Lol as if Peyton Manning was an Adonis.

What I posted in the Mills thread when asked..

I personally can't explain what it is about Jones I love. Just for me, from what I want from a QB Jones seems to have that "IT" factor. That's what drew me to him.

When I watch all these other QBs I just don't see them in full control. I know Jones isn't the perfect prospect. I know all of his passes weren't accurate.
Watching him play and see his ball placement (again not all we're perfect) seeing him know where to go with the ball. See him being decisive. THAT is what I want from a QB.

No other QB in this draft has that. If Zach Wilson's ball placement were better and he didn't spin out of clean pockets unnecessarily I'd be all over him too

And again my thing for Mac Jones is for us. I'm not saying he can go to any team and reach his ceiling. For us, I feel he is the perfect QB.

Fields and Lance may have a higher ceiling in a vacuum, but for what we do I believe Mac has the higher ceiling. I don't care what these guys look like for other teams. I care what it would mean for us.

Shanny drafts our skilled players for toughness and YAC. Jones' ball placement IMO is superior to the rest which allows for exactly that.

If we had a different head coach running a different system my thought process would likely change. But for us, I'm not going to draft a rectangle and hope I can mold it into a square to fit. That is one of the main reasons QBs fail

I don't think I answered this question in my 1st reply. Yes they probably could have had success with Alabama. But I feel it would have looked more the way of Jalen Hurts than Tua/Mac.

I'd prefer the latter in my QBs in general. Especially, in this offense

Thanks for answering. Okay, so essentially you think Mac has the "it" factor and has better ball placement than them. For me, I think Lance has that "it" factor above all of them, including Lawrence. Can't explain it, just my own view of him. I don't agree that Fields/Lance would be more Hurts on that Bama team, both are light years better than Hurts as passers and both are pass first QBs looking to pass while scrambling. As far as ball placement, I do think Mac threw a lot more screens and short RPO type stuff than Fields/Lance did so not too much to compare on that, he likely does have that over them. But I do think both Fields/Lance can easily do it and specific ball placement can and will improve for them over time in the system if we continue with that same YAC, short passing game we ran for Jimmy.

I agree that Fields/Lance is more advanced passing than Hurts. But I still feel if they were on Bama it would still look more like Hurts than Jones. Lance more so than Fields.

As for RPOs/screens and such, yes that helps completion % but has no bearings on the stuff I'm talking about. Nothing I'm talking about has anything to do with stats.

I'm sure it helps to be a fat QB on a team surrounded by the most talent possible on a college roster.

It's like playing on madden and picking an all decade team.
