All I am saying is that a lot of posters pick and choose which QBs they want give the benefit of 100s of excuses and which ones they dont. Darnold has been horrible, but his circumstances have been too.

Tannehill is primarily the reason why Darnold gets any benefit of the doubt. Tannehill in Tennessee and Tannehill under Gase is a night and day difference.

Some people are so obtuse and just want to push their agenda without using logic. The main point is Sam Darnold is inaccurate and makes horrible decisions. That has nothing, absolutely nothing to do with the talent around him.

When a guy is open and you throw the ball in the dirt or sail it over his head for an interception that has nothing to do with the team around you or the franchise. I thought that was just common sense but I guess we need to reiterate that Jimmy Garoppolo had garbage when he first came to the team and he was making plays all over the place to receivers that would not even make some teams practice squads. That's accuracy and good decision making. Jimmy isn't a great quarterback. He still misses some throws and makes some bad decisions here and there but he would never do even half as bad as Darnold.

You all post like JIMMY is the only QB not great in this league when he actually help our team get to the Super Bowl in his 1st full season.

Moon, I'm a Jimmy G advocate. I think he is right around 10-12th best qb in the league. With slightly better pass pro and finally a wr core that isn't comprised of wr3's at best he can become top 5-7. So if he's still with the niners next year I think he will become a better qb. So to answer your question.....next year he will be very good with a chance to be borderline great.

Because we are seemingly going to be shut out of the race to get one of the top QBs, I'm getting more on the trade down bandwagon (once or twice). Go into the first two days of the draft and pick up two IOL, a CB, and a QB. Jimmy may not be top 5, but he's good enough. Going into the playoffs with a real starting center and RG would change a lot. We'd also have Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel, Kittle, Mostert, etc. Opportunity for a very potent offense.

If Darnold and Jimmy were on the same roster and had a QB comp, I have a hard time seeing Darnold lose. His scramble ability and willingness to throw the ball downfield makes him better to me. Those are really my two biggest complaints on Jimmy. I know he had the ACL but I just wanna see him pick up a few yards with his legs or get outside the pocket and throw the ball away when a receiver isn't there. For a guy that was in New England, he doesn't come across as a guy with a high football IQ when it comes to those little things. Like his game isn't evolving. Darnold has his faults and is far from perfect. But the if he can do what Jimmy does for a third of the price, you can at least make the team better as a whole.

Why dont we also have a trubisky thread so we can have two threads that discuss the possibility of niners getting a loser bust qb?
