Get him as a backup and work on him from there I have no issue with, just question the price.

Jimmy can get us to the playoffs, I don't believe Darnold can walk in and do the same year one.

Have a feeling Jimmy will be traded if we bring in Darnold...

Wouldn't surprise me in the least, and that's definitely a risky gamble.

As a starter - nope. As a backup, yeah no prob although a draft pick and extra cap space is a lot to give up for a potential short term backup.

I think he can be salvaged - if Shanny likes him there's always a chance.

Yeah, I'd sit him behind Jimmy for the year, and let him soak up Shanny's offense, then make him the starter in '22.

You're not trading for Darnold to make him a backup. So you have him sit for the final cheap year of his rookie deal and then make him your starter the next season, sight unseen when you will have to pay him $25 million?

If the 49ers traded for Darnold, he's starting Week 1.

Yeah, in my scenario, Jimmy would be staying. I agree, most likely Darnold starts and Jimmy is traded or released.

Question....is Darnold even a upgrade? Doesn't he have a weaker arm then Jimmy?

Hell fkn no! Dude was way overrated and over hyped in college and it out him into a s**t spot and now he's been getting raped in NY?? No thank you. Darnold may have a solid arm and can scramble and truck defenders. Sweet. But it's his decision making. He showed this time after time at USC and unfortunately at the next level.
to his defense he was dealt a bad hand and has not had any consistency at the coaching spot. That sure as hell won't help his growth.

No thank you. He's not an upgrade over Jimmy. Now if he was to be a backup then sure fine. But not as a starting option over Jimmy. Fk no
Are there actually people who want Darnold on the Niners? Hes had injury issues and turns the ball over too much. How on earth is that an upgrade to Jimmy? Makes no sense.

You think that's bad Wentz has 50 Picks and 58 fumbles in 5 seasons and people here think he's an upgrade.
