I'm gonna say what comes next is......

Look who his head coach was.

Look at what he had on offense.

He wasn't the reason they had a losing record.

He had no run game.

He didn't have any receivers.

He had the worst defense in the NFL.

What am I missing here?? If they can get Darnold for a 4th round pick, sure no problem.

39 picks and 20 fumbles in 3 seasons has nothing to do with anybody but Darnold.

Yup. I just want what those people are smoking

So does Jimmy's 26 INTs and 10 fumbles with 250 less passing attempts have nothing to do with anybody but him? That's right around 33 INTs with the same amount of passing attempts as Sam...and that's in SF not on the worst team in football.

I just want to make sure we're all on the same page. FWIW I don't think Sam is some stud either.

If you're going to add 250 magic 8 ball attempts to your made up 33 int's then I say he throws 50 more TD's over that stretch with my magic 8 ball.

Yeah it's getting to the point that it's almost as embarrassing defending Sam Darnold as watching him play football

No I used math sorry dude.

Another huge assumption. We don't know the opponents he will play, the game plan that Shanahan puts in, the game flow, The players that would be available to Jimmy, and so on. I can't believe what's going on here

I am all for making an upgrade at quarterback but this is the very definition of reaching

Didn't answer my question, Does Jimmy have no one else to blame but himself for his 26 INTs and 10 fumbles on 977 passing attempts?

It's not defending Darnold, it's showing that we have a QB right here making $27M that has NO PROBLEM turning the ball over lol.

Sure a lot of those interceptions should be on Jimmy and a lot of us are on record as saying we don't like those throws he makes. However, you should not assume what you are assuming. You're making a projection based on nothing whatsoever

Maybe it's better that we don't defend either quarterback and save ourselves the embarrassment. Let's just hope we get Watson, which we most likely won't, or draft a quarterback very high. At the very least let's hope we get offensive lineman that play at a high-level

I'm basing it off him actually throwing the same amount as Sam. I found out (on avg) how many passing attempts he has before having a INT (through out his career). Then applied that as if he threw the same amount as Sam. It's not exact, it's an avg. He very well could have thrown more or less. That's why it's called an avg.

In no way am I defending Sam, I think he's a little better than people think BUT could give a s**t if he gets moved here. Not close to one of my top scenarios. My point is we're calling out Sam who was 20, got thrown to the wolves. and we're saying all his turnovers are on him...well here in SF we have a guy that's gotten to sit in learn behind the GOAT then come into a good organization and has turn the ball over a s**t ton in his own right. He also cost about 5x more than Sam.

Like I said if we're gonna say Sam's turnovers are all on him (which is silly) then we need to say that about our own little turnover monster QB in SF all the same.

If Shanny really is thins highly of him which we even heard back in 2017 - I think he'll be our QB 2021.

Shanalynch are all about "value" picks and none more so available than Darnold

Where would Darnold rank amongst the rookie QBs coming out of college now?

For anything above a third, and that may be too much, hell no.

If they can't get Z Wilson or D Watson, I'm all in on Darnold for a 3rd and maybe even for a 2nd if they can get anything back for JG.

Darnold + $17M in cap savings = Darnold + FA Edge + FA Center. And they can still draft a QB. Or, you can spend $54M/2 years on JG

You forgot......and pray he's not the turnover machine, poor decision maker, sack taker, liability he's been at the most important position. Oh, and also hope he learns the system well enough to not set us back to a mediocre team

Just curious, which of those don't apply to Jimmy?
