If we trade for Darnold, you will for sure hear this. Not sure what pick it will be in return though.

Pundits don't get paid 5 million dollars a year to make these decisions. Shanahan and lynch do. That's what they get paid to do. If we are going to listen to pundits, you may as well hire me.

Ryan leaf was slated at either #1 or #2 by most. Doesn'tean that the chargers front office didn't f**k up.

Every NFL team has more bad picks then they do good picks. Not sure what your point is here.
I wouldn´t mind getting Darnold for a 2nd.

In that case we keep our #12 to draft Pitts and whitout Jimmy we can extend T. Williams and Verrett.

Darnold with our runing game throwing from play-action to Kittle, Pitts, Deebo, Aiyuk would be deadly.
Carr or Mariota would be decent in this offense and both moves well.

I think adding someone like Darnold puts pressure on Jimmy to keep getting better.
getting Darnold probably sends Jimmy off

I really hope he is better than that when healthy. But then again maybe we haven't seen Darnold's best.
Who Knows.. i'm just saying it would be tough to trade for another starting QB and have then sit for a year

Absolutely, maybe in another year where the cap isnt F'ed, but you cant have two starting level QB salaries on a roster this year. If for some reason we make the move to Darnold Jimmy is gone. I am not big on the idea although the front page article that had a scenario of us getting Kwity Paye and Darnold for what ends up being essentially a second rounder next year once we deal Jimmy is the first time I have been intrigued.

Oh without question if Sam is brought in Jimmy is heading to Chicago/INDY/NE for something. s**t maybe even the Broncos.
I don't get this. Why trade for a bust?

It's risky as hell. Makes me nervous if we went with Darnold. But if Shanahan is loves him and the price is reasonable it's obviously taking a shot on legit talent.
High risk/high reward move

I don't know anything about being "deadly," but I feel it's POSSIBLE that we'd get similar production for less than half the price.

But it's such a risk. We are projecting that Darnold would drastically improve with a better coach and team around him. How much he improved would determine how worthwhile such a move would be.

And that's unknowable at this point, which is why it would be such a bold and fraud with risk move.
I'll say this: no one can doubt his physical talent.

But there's way more to it than that, of course.

Even if not a bust, seeing win-now potential in an entirely unproven QB is legit confusing to me.

Pros - High character, young, big, strong, athletic, strong arm, fantastic off-script, amazing thrower on the run(tbh, one of the best I've ever seen coming out of college)

Cons - s**tty throwing mechanics, s**tty footwork, field vision, decision making, INT machine, shoddy poise and pocket presence

I remember someone saying this about him during the draft process, and it sums up Darnold perfectly:

Strengths: Possesses an amazing ability to keep his team in the game. Weaknesses: possesses an amazing ability to keep the opponent in the game.

sounds like jameis winston
