So looking at the new 5th yr option scale if he somehow ended up here his tag would be $18.8M

Niners would be responsible for about 4.7 million i believe in 2021 and in 2022 according to the 5th year scale it would be the $18.8 mil. So savings about $22 mil in 2021 and about 8 mil in 2022 from Jimmy if those figures are correct.

Honestly I think Sam would be a cheap bridge QB for a young QB that they draft, same as Jimmy just $20M cheaper.

I got a weird feeling this is gonna happen and we actually gonna get more then people think for Jimmy in a trade.

I don't know how to feel about it overall

Yea but Deshaun Watson was good. Sam Darnold is a bridge to last place and John Lynch getting fired.

Sean Mcvay must be laughing his ass off and licking his chops knowing he's got Matt Stafford now and Shanahan may end up with Sam f**king Darnold.

Oh I'm not comparing them overall, just pointing out Watson had no problem throwing a s**t ton of INTS in college

Sam's INT % since being draft is 3.2%, Jimmy in that same time 3.2%. I would imagine that goes down even just a hair if he's in SF vs being in NJ.
Jimmy is NOT worth $20M dollars MORE than Sam, just isn't. SF would be rolling into FA with like $55M-$60M after dealing with Ford/Richburg.

McVay isn't goanna be licking his chops when SF is able to sign the following...

Trent, Lawson, Verrett, Juice, one of the many WRs that are available, possibly a guy like Akins to rotate inside, Center Mack. Toss in some extra Dbs like King/Hilton, Jonnu Smith....any sort of combo, money won't be an issue AND they can just give dudes 1 yr deals to get a stacked squad.

If they can get Sam for a 3rd this yr and next yr...trade Jimmy for a 2nd, they're rolling into the draft cooking! They can get a kid like Lance to sit for a yr. They can go BPA all draft because they have most of their holes fixed already.

Meanwhile McVay is got his thumb up his ass because he's got Stafford/Goff eating $40M, is over the cap and has to cut good players AND doesn't have picks or $ to replace those losses.

Lynch is rocking a f**king home run roster, with a cheap meh starter QB (no different then now just not cheap) AND has the real deal waiting and learning for a yr.

No one...
If that's the plan, why trade for Darnold? This is still the worst team in the NFCW with all those additions because Sam Darnold is awful. Why not just sign another s**t, bust QB like Mitch Trubisky if you want a bridge QB? Or pay Fitz for a year or two? Trading for Darnold makes no sense if they intend to draft another QB. You're giving away a valuable draft pick for a dude that isn't good, will help you finish in last place and will be gone in 1 year.

It's just a terrible move all around. If they want to move on from Jimmy to free up cap space AND draft a QB at 12, I'd rather start the damn rookie than give away a draft pick for Sam Darnold.

Your logic makes too much sense for the national sports media (and the Twitter wannabes) to accept. They're dead set on Darnold going to SF because for some reason it makes for good click bait.

Because Kyle might think there's some juice with Darnold. He literally had the worst roster in football around him for 3 yrs. OH and Adam Gase

I wouldn't call a couple 3rds as super valuable....you see they're giving them away like candy now

Look I get it you hate him, I don't think he's much worse then Jimmy, just don't.
