Sam has damn near all the same issues as Jimmy.

s**tty footwork in the pocket, TO machines, overall accuracy isn't amazing, bad field vision.

Jimmy wouldn't be winning s**t in NJ either.

both are bridge quarterbacks one is $20M cheaper.

only way I'm cool bringing in Sam is if he's dirt cheap, their plan is to still draft a QB like lance/fields, and they get something for Jimmy.

So NY, obviously we have both watched a lot of Darnold and nothing has been good lol but you don't think a great team, system, supporting crew like the niners have can fix Darnold, he wasn't drafted that high just bc, he is talented, I think the jets ruined him so far, you don't think he's fixable ?

I'm thinking the same thing, I just think the Jets are so pathetic and Gase is a horrific coach.

Didn't you just do that. I mean you give every QB out there all the excuses in the book but as soon as it comes to Jimmy its "oh here come the Jimmy fanboys blah blah blah".

All these excuses? WTF are you talking about? That's what you've been doing for Jimmy lol.

you can NOT objectively compare Jimmy's situation in SF to Sam's in NJ as apples to apples.

Stop the nonsense, you damn well know what each team has had between rosters and coaching staff.

You're doing again, making excuses for other QB's. I can think objectively about players, but seriously the s**t you guys come up with, for instance air yards that s**t is laughable. Was Jimmy injured and playing like s**t because of injury, yes he was, how anyone can contest that is again laughable. Jimmy's arm strength isn't the strongest I can agree with that, now all QB's have laser rocket arms. What else is there, oh he doesn't run fast or scramble, who gives a s**t he's a pocket QB.

And you say stop the nonsense, how about you guys stop the crying and b***hing.
^You heard it here first folks. Pocket QBs arent supposed to be able to scramble.

Yah that's what I said.

Nice try though. Keep up the bad work.

But they should have pocket presence, which jimmy lacks, or was it the horrible interior play when he suited up this season ?
Benjamin Albright just said 49ers are looking at Sam Darnold as a trade target.

I'll be so pissed.

If they want Sam to sit behind Jimmy, that's fine. I can live with that. We'll still be competitive with Jimmy, and Kyle can try to resuscitate Sam Darnold.

But if they plan to send Jimmy packing and start Sam Darnold, well, Jed may as well start firing people because this team will finish in last place next year. And even if Sam Darnold improves and plays well, which I expect he will under Shanahan--all QBs improve under him, the 49ers will be back to square one of having to decide whether to pay a guy who played well in one season.

I think the most likely scenario, assuming there is any truth to them being interested in Darnold. Is that they are looking for a cheaper backup/bridge QB to pair with a rookie QB they want/intend to draft in the first round.

What about Josh Rosen?

Yeah I figured Kyle shanahan wanted to only replace Jimmy with a true upgrade and I don't think the locker room would see it as a upgrade. Sam darnold has talent but he also has been a turnover machine and he might be a broken Qb. Jimmy G is a proven winner and Sam darnold hasn't won jack s**t. Does Kyle shanahan really want to put his reputation at stake with Sam darnold 🤔🙈

Yeah, you would want a greater safety net than that if your plan is to draft a rookie.

People need to look at it like this. Ideally, we would get more in compensation for Jimmy in draft picks than Darnold would cost. But let's say they end up equal trade value. If our plan is to draft a QB in the first round. Do we want to be paying a backup, what is it 27 mil? It would make much more sense to have Darnold as your backup. Considering it would free us up over 10 mil in cap space. In a free agency where we can use all the cap space, we can get. I am also very open to signing a free agent instead. If the plan is to draft a rookie in the first and we wait to try to trade Jimmy after we draft a QB. We risk paying a QB 27 mil to ride the bench. Or if we try to trade him at that point we might not be able to, forcing us to release him. Losing out on the draft picks we could have gotten for him and leaving us with no one to back up a rookie QB but Rosen.

Lol. At least I'll always have great memories from rooting on the 80's and 90's Niners teams.

Wake me up when this franchise gets a real QB.
