Sam Darnold-Traded to Panthers

Um, I'm no expert and I like Kyle well enough.

But if all Darnold needs is coaching, and look the Jets have been abysmal and he would get better coaching here...

But am I the only one seeing people believing that with the coaching here Jimmy has gotten worse, Mullens has gotten worse and maybe the only one who has improved to any degree is Beathard?

Obviously Kyle's overall offense and scheme is outstanding. But it's not like there's a demonstrated history of taking broken QB's and making them decent. He hit on a good year of Hoyer in Cleveland, Schaub did well in Houston and Matt Ryan was already good and the scheme made him better.

I don't know, I just think we have a Sam Darnold type on the roster already and he was in the same draft class and played for Darnold's conference rival.

I

After hearing the Mike McDaniel interview on Maiocco, I could totally envision him saying that.

HAHA

what a wild interview McDaniel is a different dude that's for sure.
If the jets are planning on moving this guy they should of done it by now imo. Otherwise they might end up with both jack and chit in return for their investment.

The thought of them not going qb at two is kind of laughable.
Why are there so many football "experts" predicting or somewhat pushing this guy on the 49ers? I feel like they want this guy to succeed and they're making it Shanahan's job to resurrect him. There's about 4 other QBs in this draft alone that are better than Darnold though... as rookies. I just don't see him as an upgrade and if so, not much of one. If he's going to cost anything to get it's just not worth it. He'd have to come over on an almost even swap for Garoppolo.

On a side note any interview I've ever seen with Sam Darnold he doesn't seem like a very confident person. I want a QB with some swagger and this guy doesn't have it.

Yeah, he's had time to show his pro's and his con's. I think he's a solid backup at this point in his career. It will take a team willing to start him again for him to sniff being a starter again.

The one thing he does pretty well is throw on the move... so with all the bootlegs and play action roll outs in the Shanny's offense they are just penciling him in as a good fit. Kind of like what they did with Jake Plummer and Shanny Sr., but that actually worked out.

Has it been reported what they are asking for in return?

Pro: Has a good arm and size.
Con: Sees ghosts!👻
Pros: Young, cheaper, maybe more upside
Cons: This thread is hanging around like a bad fart that. just. won't. die.
CBS Sports just suggested the Broncos should trade for Darnold. With that trade, this thread could die.
