Good move, good move !!

with that being said, they now have a very good problem to have using their 1st pick... CB - LB - OT..

Not really. It said they had no shot at the top 4 QBs

...and they might also be wary of Denver jumping them. Unlikely but crazy things happen when QB-hyping season is in full swing.

I think Patriots are going to try and move up. Belichick is not going to be coaching much longer.... He knows he is not winning nothing with Cam or Winston. He has got to take his shot at the QB now. I think he tries everything to trade up to land who ever is left of Mac or Fields after our pick. That is of course assuming Falcons don't decide they want to take a QB. Denver could definitely try to move up. also the Bears and Saints. I just don't think they will be able/willing to give up as much as the Patriots are going to be to land one. I just have this feeling that the Patriots will be drafting the 4th Qb in this draft and it wont be at #15.

Weird board. Thinks 3 picks including a 2nd is poor return for Darnold, but that JG wouldn't get a 1st.

Also, this tells me that the Panthers think Darnold is better than the 5th QB who is likely to be available at their pick. I'd be confident if I were them than either Lance or Jones will be available there.

Jimmy is almost 7 years older than Darnold, started fewer games, and simply cannot be relied on to stay healthy. It should be no surprise that Darnold fetched a higher price than what has been offered for Jimmy.
If I am the Panthers I still draft a QB if Fields or Lance are available. What if Darnold continues to suck? They will be in the same position next year but with a much worse QB class to choose from.

His grandfather, Dick Hammer, was a Marlboro Man actor and USC athlete.

Would have loved to be a fly on the wall when his parents named him. Im sure his father fought hard for the name.

Except that JG has been successful while Darnold has not. JG has shown he is a better QB and can win even when the team around him isn't that good.

It's rare for a QB to improve significantly after the amount of starts Darnold has, no matter how old he is.

Darnold has not played a full season without missing starts in his career, JG has.

JG is simply worth more.

Jimmy played on a team with much better offensive talent, a great defense and one of the best offensive play callers in the NFL. Darnold played on a horrible team with a bad coach. He also had mono one season which I can tell you from experience can really take a lot out of you. You can't compare these two guys based on their record. Totally different circumstances.

If Jimmy was really worth much more then teams would be lighting up the phones with trade offers. At this point, I wouldn't give up more than a 2nd rounder for him and that's if I was desperate. That's why I want to see him play this season for SF and stay healthy. If he looks like he's okay then maybe they can get a higher pick.

I will say this, us moving to 3 changed everyone's game and put them all on a shot clock. All these moves would have been draft day if we didn't put them all on notice.

Jimmy came onto this team when it was looking like it would finish the 2017 season 1-15. It's not like he landed on a loaded roster when he got here.

yep i think they will sit back and see how it plays out and have the Bengals on speed dial. I think its a good chance the top 5 QBs go 1,2,3,4,5. Who knows who is going to be the 5th QB off the board. Could be Lance, Jones, or even Fields. Although I think Atlanta would love Fields and they probably wont trade out of that spot.

It was loaded in 2019 when he won. That's what counts. Unless you want to give him credit for building the team in 2018 while he was sitting on the bench.

Actually one can argue that Jimmy is more reliable. Both Jimmy and Sam have been played 3 full seasons as their teams starting QB. Jimmy completed 1 season (all 16 games + playoffs) and was injured for 2 seasons. Sam has never played 16 games in his 3 seasons.

You could say that but it would be wrong. Jimmy started 25 games during those 3 years. He didn't finish in 3 of them. He suffered severe season ending injuries. Darnold started 32 games and suffered minor setbacks. Mono caused him to miss 3 games and a sprained thumb caused him to miss another. Not really an indication that he's injury prone.
So happy the Niners didn't trade for this guy. He'll be out of the league in 5 years or at least a career backup at that point.

That may be, however, he has gone from the worst situation in the league to a very good HC and an OC that turned Joe Burrow into the #1 overall pick.
BiliCheat GOT into Shanny's head... he played his card very well and Shanny read him wrong.. he was lead to believe that BiliCheat wanted JONES and reminded him so much of Brady so Shanny panic like a baby and begged Kyle to move up...
