If they are rebuilding, why would Detroit sit on an asset like Matthew Stafford and let it spoil while they rebuild? The answer is they won't. Stafford has been there long enough and he isn't going to want to put up with rebuild either. Both sides are likely looking for a fresh start.

Most coaches know they only get 3 years to turn things around. So they don't nuke the team entirely. They're likely going to hire Saleh and defense is what they need to fix and also his specialty. I imagine he'll want to keep the o intact and just put all of his resources in getting his d.
The question is has Stafford had enough? He might force their hand.

At best Salah goes in there and gets them to 8-8 or 9-7 in a three years with a wild card spot. The franchise needs a good 5 years of a rebuild. Thats how little talent they have. They aren't going to keep Stafford bro.

No idea if the answer is out there this off season so if he's back I really hope I'm wrong.
I'm not the biggest Jimmy G supporter but this just isn't true. We should have won the SB last year even with Jimmy stinking it up. The defense collapsed late in the game. You should have said Jimmy ALONE can't win us a SB. I would agree with that.
No, I should have said exactly what I said. I don't believe we can win a SB with Jimmy. That's all I said.

Why would Jimmy agree to restructure when hes going to be benched. And why the hell would you restructure his contract if you're moving on from him.
I think those are his plan A, B and C, not a "do all three" deal.
I had to do a double take, I thought the same as you at first.
