Lions #1 overall for him?

I'm sure the Texans will want more, but we'll see.

Tough spot for Caserio. QBs are hard to come by. They are not that far away provided they keep Watson.

Eagles could potentially have 3 top 20 picks this year, depending on what Indy does this season. Giants could have two in the top ten.

If Watson's legal situation gets resolved favorably, they'll get a lot more than the Rams gave for Stafford.

What are ya'll talking about? Doesn't he have like 20 allegations of abuse about him? It's like Trevor Bauer x20. And teams are lining up for this?

Are you all assuming his legal is completely resolved? Has it been resolved? Haven't really been following but I assume if everything were resolved he wouldn't be a weekly inactive to Davis Mills. He's basically toxic radioactive waste at this point.

"If Watson's legal situation gets resolved favorably"

I'm clearly outlining his value should that happen and not saying anything at all about that already being the case. So far as I know, he can't even be deposed until after the SB. Meaning the only way anything civil could be resolved is through settlement, which doesn't appear likely for now.

And Watson will never play another snap for the Texans no matter what happens legally. He's inactive because he doesn't want to play for them, they don't want the headache, and the NFL doesn't want the headlines.

Even if things get resolved favorable how exactly would that look? Is he paying these women off? And this isn't 1 woman like in the Bauer example. It's 22. Even if things are resolved legally, would any team want from a moral standpoint to trot this guy out front and center as the franchise player? Oh yeah let's sell Watson jerseys to our fan base let's have kids wear em

Part of an NFL franchise is being a brand. The Watson brand may be toxic imo. Almost seems like the Vick situation. Vick was acquired by the Eagles as a free agent on a 1 year 1 mil deal with zero guaranteed. Times have changed and deals have changed but I think that any team would give the #1 overall is laughable imo.

I agree with this comparison and if this is the comparison we are going for recall the Falcons still had rights to Vick and tried to trade him but nothing got done and he was ultimately released. This is why I am saying that compensation of #1 overall or greater than Stafford is looney tunes.

Vick was convicted of a crime well documented with some pretty horrific photographs and was heading to jail. To date, Watson has not been charged criminally. It's a very weak comparison at the moment and I'm pretty sure his point is that the true blowback for signing Vick never amounted to much. Fast forward a bit and all most fans were talking about was how smart the Eagles were to get the guy. If anything, your comparison strengthens the idea teams will pay more for Watson today based on what they learned from Vick.

For the record, I'm not downplaying the accusations against Watson. I just find it incredibly naïve to believe NFL fans will care even if he settles, given many fanbases are already out there creating dream scenarios where their teams get the guy this offseason despite already knowing about the accusations. My faith in humanity isn't that strong, and NFL owners have already proven they care about things like this only as much as it affects their wallet.

If Watson gives the NFL a scenario where they can bring him back while making some face-saving show of mandatory counseling, fines, or a minimal suspension, than the league will jump on that and the bidding will commence.

I'm just more cynical than you.

Yep, it was reported him and McDaniels were going to accept the HC/GM, but backed out at the last second. We got Shanahan/Lynch so it worked out.
Rumor has it his current anger level at this situation is approaching a 10
