Do you guys think that the Trevor Bauer 2 year suspension will affect what the NFL will do with Watson?

Great post. This is the story no one is talking about. Pressure ramps up on the NFL. The Browns have Brissett and Joshua Dobbs for a reason. Not many teams carry 3 QBs..

MLB purposely laying a heavy hand knowing Trevor will appeal and win.

But the bigger story is why hasn't this gotten anywhere near the attention that Watson got?

Not sure what you are talking about I'm an MLB fan it's been a major story as much as Watson. The day the allegations broke it's all they were talking about on KNBR. Also not sure why MLB would purposely set themselves up to take the L. To be honest I have a problem with all these league suspensions, when neither one of these guys has been demonstrated to do anything wrongful. Grand jury dismissed Watson's stuff, and LA DA announced there was no evidence to charge Bauer with anything..

All pro sports leagues can discipline players without the formal legal system finding they are criminally or civilly liable. The standard for suspensions is not "player was successfully sued" or "player was found guilty." The leagues operate an independent system of "justice" - they can conduct their own research and reach their own conclusions.

The legal system does not dictate what is true or what is right. Especially in cases such as these.

MLB's policy allows for suspensions on the basis of allegations alone. The NFL's policy clearly doesn't work the same way, or Watson would be suspended right now. Arbitrary suspensions don't happen - there's too much money involved. MLB has drawn a line that's closer to "if there's smoke, we'll assume there's fire" than the NFL's "we wait until Jerry Jones's mummified body is starting to smolder."

NFL works the same is my understanding. I mean they have an active investigation of Watson ongoing and he hasn't seen the field since his allegations.

No one knows if he'll be active week 1.. the Browns clearly are betting he will be but NFL has final say.

The leagues independent justice is an utter joke. Ray Rice was given 2 games. Fans saw this as such a bad decision they backlashed and the league relented. Brady given 4 games for something that was not proven and in my opinion never happened. Josh Gordon banned for years due to pot. Etc. Kareem Hunt and Tyreek Hill celebrated players. Total joke. They are so bad at administering justice and suspensions they should just let players play for off field stuff. That way they don't take any heat it's simply not on their plate. Just police the league related stuff like PED test infraction.. not what happens in someone's bedroom.

They can't really do that. There's a multi-billion dollar brand to defend.

I agree they're horrible at it, though. Your examples tell the story.

The Browns clearly got information that led to them trading for Watson and giving him a fully guaranteed $250 million contract.

Watson won't be suspended, and even if he is it won't be much maybe a few games.

Didn't he sit out or was told not to report last season so he could deal with this stuff?

According to sources the investigation into Watson is active and ongoing and the NFL and Goodell don't have final say. Sue Robinson does. Would be surprised to see one star in a sport get 2 years and another star get no suspension that just doesn't make sense. Last year he was eligible to participate and the Texans did not want him around due to the allegations / ongoing investigation. I think if there is any suspension based on CBA and conduct policies it would be required 6 games minimum.
Could have some breaking news.. he's meeting with NFL now regarding investigation into his situation..

I remain steadfast in my belief that the Browns decision to trade for Watson was one of the dumbest things I have ever seen.
dang all it takes is to get a massage to get the most guaranteed money in the nfl?

"During the massage, Watson began to aggressively dictate the massage and complain that she was not doing what he wanted. The plaintiff began to think that Watson only wanted sex.

Watson repeatedly directed her towards his penis. She alleges that he purposely exposed the tip of his now fully erect penis from under the towel. He began moving himself to expose himself more, and eventually turned to touch her hand with his penis.

The plaintiff immediately ended the massage and started to cry. After telling him to leave, Watson said "I know you have a career and a reputation, and I know you would hate for someone to mess with yours, just like I don't want anyone messing with mine."

Later, Watson reached out to her via text message to apologize. She did not respond."

Watson trying to show her where the tension was.
He should have just asked Robert Kraft where to find a good rub and tug

He's probably going to be suspended in the short term, but this might go down as one of the dumbest trades in NFL history.

the problem with Watsom seems to be he is a predator. Most people like Kraft probably have 1 go to place to get the job done but Watson apparently wanted a variety of young women. He didnt go to legit places of business but rather instagram.

The more i think about this the more disappointed im in with the Browns ownership and i hope they lose ownership of that team. From the GM to the owner.
