I agree suspension is likely. My understanding is minimum is 6 games per policy. I would expect more like 10 games or 1 year. NFL has too much potential blowback from sponsors, advertisers, fans, etc. This outweighs any financial gain the league gets from having Watson active. MLB already ran this calculation on Bauer and went with a 2 year suspension.

They gave up 3 ones and a fully gtd contract that pays more aav than Mahomes for this

If he gets 10+ games, do the Browns keep Mayfield?

Imo.. No that bridge is burned. They have Brissett and Joshua Dobbs.

Would you say we are thinking about keeping JG? He's in the same situation imo, up to and including the offseason surgery..

Didn't they practically call Mayfield a child? It be great for them to have him as insurance but I just feel like it could be toxic

No. Toxic in the locker room, it would seem.

What has he done that is toxic? Actual question, only thing I can think of is him staring down Hue Jackson after he went to the divisional rival Bengals.
Mayfield was a douche in college for sure but haven't heard or seen anything in his nfl career that looks toxic.

I think the Browns organization is what is toxic they publicly said they "want an adult at quarterback" then traded for an alleged sex offender still going through trail.
Not even Bill Belichick who grew up a huge Browns fan couldn't fix that dumpster fire

Yeah the toxicity is in the ownership that greenlit the Watson deal imo.

Still don't see this as the Browns proper. Modell was such a pos.
It may be a while longer before NFL gives word on suspension..
