Deshaun Watson

The league is probably loving this idea of having a judge suggest a punishment then can gauge the reaction of fans to do more.

Still blows me away that people are trying to compare this to Ridley.

In NFL terms, what Ridley did was way worse.

In life terms, what Watson was being accused of was waaaaaaaaaay worse.

They shouldn't be compared to one another.

Both are suspensions that the league imposed for making the league look bad. I don't see why the comparison can't be made

Because one puts the integrity of the sport at risk and one is just a bad look. A sport being tainted because of a potential of fixing games is a much larger deal to the league than one of its 4,000 employees having terrible accusations (which, lets be honest, at this point they are nothing more than accusations).
Do I think Deshaun Watson is completely innocent? No.

Is it possible that Deshaun Watson is completely innocent? Absolutely.

I think 6 games is a joke...if the NFL really wants to send a strong message it should've been the season. Yet another case of the NFL purporting to be tough against cases like Watson's, yet when the you-know-what hits the fan, not really. Yikes.

Yea this is embarrassing, if I wasn't such a big niner fan I'd turn it off. They are gonna start losing casual fans as they should

And yet the public reaction to Watsons suspension is causing a far worst optic for the NFL. I don't think anyone minded the year long suspension of Ridley as it should have been a big suspension. Just Watson should have gotten a similar punishment.

I don't know. One can see a lot of the time he was away as time served.

Time served insinuates its a punishment.

Watson wanted to be traded and the Texans didnt want him to get injured (for a trade), so he was on the active roster all year, but deactivated for every game.

No way should this be considered, especially since he got paid.
The findings from the independent investigator. Stunningly low number of games.. based on the below findings..

Robinson wrote that she determined Watson had "engaged in sexual assault (as defined by the NFL) against the four therapists identified in the Report."

One and a half games.. per assault... embarrassing!

Should of traded for Watson instead of Lance, keep Jimmy for the 6 games then trade him right before the deadline

We have to remember how this all started, though. I am NOT saying I believe this is a gigantic conspiracy, but it could be. All I am saying is that its POSSIBLE that he didnt do anything.
Personally I hate this guilty till proven innocent nonsense. All we have are allegations.

Yeah, there's a perfectly innocent explanation for why a guy meets with over 60 masseuses over two years, with nearly half of them, alleging impropriety on his part with allegations that indicate a repeat pattern of inappropriate behavior.

If I had a dollar for every pro athlete that has happened to, I'd have a dollar.

Look, I dont want to continue arguing with posters because I dont want to be painted as someone who is defending him. I'm not. I wasnt there. I dont know what did or did not happen. All I am saying is its possible he isnt guilty of anything.

If not a single one of these accusations had enough evidence to go forward with a criminal indictment, I would say that me saying its "possible" he didnt do anything shouldnt be met with such responses. But you guys do you.
