Deshaun Watson

Tom Brady got 4 games for air.
Calvin Ridley got an indefinite suspension over betting for his team to win when he was away from the NFL.
Kareem Hunt got 8 games for 1 case of sexual assault.
Mychal Kendricks got 8 games for insider trading.
Jaemis Winston got 3 games for touching an uber driver inappropriately.
Rothlesburger got 6 games for 2 accusations of sexual assault.

How exactly does 26 accusations of sexual misconduct, accompanied by accusations of sexual assault result in only 6 games? Imo Goodell has to up the suspension or there will be an enormous public outcry.

False. They were allegations. Then they became lawsuits. Then they became settlements. It is true a settlement is not evidence of wrongdoing. However here a judge acting as independent investigator says yes, based on the evidence, he is guilty of sexual assault per the NFLs policies, and is therefore suspended.

All we have here are 66 allegations, I mean 66 people conspiring against the innocent Mr. Watson. Poor guy.

Clearly he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time, at least 66 times.

Is it possible that Deshaun Watson is completely innocent? Absolutely.

This is a stupid game to play. Is it possible a person who has been found guilty in court completely innocent? Absolutely.

Anyway, the NFL suspension does not need to be in the same standard as a criminal court. NFLPA basically agreed to that with the NFL.

I mean I'm all for presumption of innocence and due process. I'm sure the judge who looked at this is well versed in such topics. She handed down the suspension recommendation based on evidence. You can read her opinion here:

Look, I dont want to continue arguing with posters because I dont want to be painted as someone who is defending him. I'm not. I wasnt there. I dont know what did or did not happen. All I am saying is its possible he isnt guilty of anything.

If not a single one of these accusations had enough evidence to go forward with a criminal indictment, I would say that me saying its "possible" he didnt do anything shouldnt be met with such responses. But you guys do you.

By that logic, lots of things are possible. I look at probability vs possibility. Is it more probable that Watson did these things then some vast conspiracy of women got together and decided to go after him, and only him and not any of the thousands of other athletes in pro sports today?

And a prosecutor will usually only move ahead with a criminal indictment if they feel that they can win and sexual assault cases are among the most difficult to win as they often come down to "he said/she said."

https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2018/10/06/less-than-percent-rapes-lead-felony-convictions-least-percent-victims-face-emotional-physical-consequences/

The only reason Bill Cosby ever saw any jail time was because the prosecutor broke a promise to not go after him on criminal charges, otherwise you could also argue that it was possible that he was a victim of a massive conspiracy and wasn't slinging anything more than Jello.

For me I look at all the other pro athletes that aren't getting into this kind of s**t, aren't being hit with dozens of allegations, don't need to send texts to a masseuse apologizing afterwards because they did something during the massage to cause her to break into tears.

But yeah, its possible that Watson is the real victim in all of this.
Big Ben and Kraft laid the foundation for 6 games .
Only in the NFL can you get 6 games for assaulting women.

Just over 1 quarter per assault.

I hear it's hard for the league to come down hard on Watson (who is a black QB) after owners Robert Kraft, D. Snyder, J. Jones, and all the rest of the owners who got caught got very tiny fines if that.
What a joke. Every game is gonna have a message about empowering women but they let this piece of s**t sit out for 6 games and then back to business

Where are you hearing that?

I don't think anyone actually gives a s**t about Kraft going to a rug and tug joint and getting a handjob. If that's all that Watson was accused of doing, no one would give a crap either. Half the women that filed allegations against him are professional, licensed masseuses, a few of them had just gotten out of school so the possibility of getting NFL level business must have seemed like a huge opportunity. Then goofy ass "touch my dick, rub my bootyhole and sign this NDA" wanders into the room.

Also I don't think any NFL fan thinks Dan Snyder should own a team anymore and it's honestly been like that for like 10 years.
