Never seen a fall off as badly as Deshaun Watson. Just crazy how bad he is now.

Love to see Mayfield shining while this sexual predator clown struggling. LOL at the Browns, just blow the whole organization up and bury it.
We dodged a bullet with this dude. This is the QB i wanted when he came out too.

He looks like Trey Lance. Honestly. He was Pro Bowl level or borderline that. It's incredible. I've never seen anything like it either. He missed a lot of football and has huge problems. Probably a lot in his mind blocking his performance.

What's crazy is with everything that was going on with him he should have had no leverage in both trade value and ciontract wise but somehow the Browns give up the farm for him and then paid him as if he was the best QB in the league who had no off field issues. He was worth a 3rd RD pick at best but Browns give multiple 1st RD picks. And he was worth a min contract but Browns made him the highest paid QB and gave him most guaranteed money. It was rediculous.

It really pissed off a lot of the other owners, too. Mostly because of the guaranteed $, but also because it gave them all a bad look.

yeah it was. CLE got exposed as fools. the ppl running that org are fools. HOU played them, probably by playing off the fear of if you don't pay this price, we'll trade him to ATL. CLE didn't have any ears to the ground on what the rest of the league was willing to pay.

What is this revisionist history? I believe he had the highest completion percentage all-time five years into the league with a YPA of near 9.0. He was better than Mahomes in 2020 and was available for trade. In 2022, he was 26 and entering his prime already having showing himself capable of being successful in the NFL.
THIRTEEN teams tried to trade for Watson over a year which ultimately led to a bidding war. Before the reports of the lawsuits against Watson (March 16, 2021), the Dolphins, Broncos, Panthers, Eagles, WFT, and the 49ers were interested in trading for Watson. Ten days later, the 49ers pull the trigger on trading 3 first-round picks and a third-round pick for the Dolphins #3 pick to select a quarterback. The Dolphins, Broncos, Panthers, and Eagles were still trying to acquire Watson into the season, with the Dolphins making a run up to the 2021 trade deadline. In the 2022 offseason, the Texans told everyone that Watson was available for trade. FIVE teams were willing to meet the Texans minimum asking price of THREE first-round picks. The Colts were immediately told by the Texans that Watson wasn't going to be traded in-division. The Browns, Panthers, Saints, and Falcons were the final four. With all contracts being close at the time, the Browns were ruled out because Watson had a preference to play in the south. The Panthers were eliminated next as he narrowed down to the Saints (recent on-field success) and Falcons (geography/culture). The Saints jumped the gun and restructured a bunch of contracts to create just under 30M in cap space to accommodate Watson' 4-year contract he had with the Texans. As Watson was on the cusp of selecting the Falcons, the Browns took one more run at him and offered him that contract. These teams spent months prior to March digging through Watson's life at the time to figure out if he was worth the risk and they obviously all felt comfortable enough to pursue him.
The Browns took a risk. It hasn't worked out. If something comes out of this latest lawsuit that causes Watson to miss games, the Browns will have an off-ramp to terminate his contract, not be on the hook for future guaranteed money, and even recoup some money already paid.

you can go back i was saying he was near worthless at the time of the trade. he was toxic off the field and took a huge time off from being QB. this is a puff piece. if there are reports of other teams willing to pay the price, HOU leaked it.

He's a f**kin weirdo. Again, I'm so glad the 9ers didn't give up the farm for him.
