Don't you have to be at least a somewhat decent defensive coordinator to be a head coach?

This guy is not Head Coach material. Is barely DC material.

Demeco's D feels a lot more talent dependent than Saleh's.
Two years in a row now he's tried to play press man on every passing 3rd down. It only worked when we had Ward and EMan healthy… even then we had to hope the other team didn't run a pick play

Good gameplan tonight. Trust the defenders to man up and cover the inexperienced LAC WRs. Some timely blitzes and good tackling.

atleast we know we have 1 coach on the staff that can make half time adjustments ami right
so crazy how the last two games have been. 1st half of them our defense looks like its getting shredded and the only way we get stops is if their offense makes mistakes. 2nd half is like all our defensive players took steroid shots or PEDs and just put the clamps on lol

I skimmed through the TV broadcast and it looks like Ryans actually called lots of zone in the second half. Anyway, second half shutout after needing one drive to wake up from the Bye week, and multiple times being put in tough spots (offensive 3 and outs, Aiyuk fumble) in the first half.

Give some props to the D as a whole.
Herbert came in as the hardest to sack QB in the NFL, the D did well and the Greenlaw hit was a game changer, GG.
Having a healthy J Ward, Huff and Gipson all on the field at the same time is a very good thing for coverage and tackling, definitely make up for the unfortunate loss of Eman in the secondary.
