DeMeco Ryans, Texans HC

I'm hoping he gets some good interview experience this offseason, but doesn't get a HC gig until the year after. I guess it depends which teams are looking for a defensive minded Head Coach, and I don't think Denver will be. Unless he claims he can get a specific top notch OC that will fix Wilson.

Carolina is the most appealing to me. Clearly they have some fight, are in a terrible division (as is Houston), and though they may draft too low to get a top QB, they have some draft capital to work with, and could potentially just sign Jimmy. Houston on the other hand is more like the 49ers when Kyle got here, maybe slightly more talent. I will say they have a backup of the future in Davis Mills, which may not seem like a big deal, but really is a big deal. They have a guy that they can play until they find the real guy. There's also Indy.

If he goes to Houston then Bryce Young will be his QB long term. He's going #1 no matter who the HC is. Young is an outstanding prospect. Looking back over the last three or four years, I put him behind only Lawrence among draft eligible QBs.

Talking about Carolina, who could be as low as 21 if they make the playoffs (assuming a 1st round exit).

I was referring to this part:

I don't know if Young will start as a rookie but you might as well pencil him in as the Houston pick at this point.

Can't pencil him in yet. Texans can easily beat the Colts and lose out on #1 pick.

If I was an owner, especially for the Broncos, I'm very curious what his plans are for Offensive Coordinator.

I was agreeing with you. You keep Davis Mills. When I said backup of the future, I meant longterm, beyond 2023. He's not getting a starting opportunity elsewhere.

Ejiro Evero has done a tremendous job as DC for the Broncos and will also garner some attention for Head Coaching opportunities.

Broncos will give him serious consideration as well.

Just because Chicago isn't likely to draft a QB, doesn't mean they couldn't trade the pick.

I think this is what will happen.

Texans owner is toxic. Hope he stays far far from them. If think Dan Quinn will be the first defensive coach hired this off season then DR

I don't think he's toxic, I think he hired some toxic people. The franchise was fairly stable under his dad and then junior took over and inherited Bill O'Brien along with hiring Jack Easterby who has been fired.

Ryans does have history there and if they do move on from Lovie then you get the #1 pick in the draft, you get some decent talent across that roster, basically zero expectations for an immediate turnaround and a fanbse that will be psyched to see any signs of life coming from that franchise.

That said, I think the Panthers job, with the level of defensive talent they have across the board, is probably the most enticing, even without a QB in place. Brian Burns, Derrick Brown, Jaycee Horn, lots of top young talent.

Good info. I didn't know they got rid of him. Panthers is a good spot. Everybody here in DC wants DR hired and Rivera fired.

Will this guy get the call and go back to the Texans.

Seems like Dan Quinn is headed to Denver.
