Armstead has been generating pressure. He's been great since his return.

It seems like Demeco Ryans overlooked the Raider offensive fire-power when all their guys are healthy. Adams certainly can't be overlooked but the Raiders also have Darren Waller. When healthy, he is hard to cover and tackle. Renfrow is also a tough out. Hollins is no slouch either. And, as Nick Bosa said, Josh Jacobs is the best RB in the league.

Derek Carr was part of the problem but not all of it. A lot of the above pieces were missing much of the past games. Now with all of those parts back in place, it was a relatively easy thing for Stidham to put up some numbers.

This was a good game to put things back in perspective. The Raiders are a much better team than their record. Their play yesterday will be a good barometer for DR to evaluate the level they need to maintain heading into the playoffs.

I hear you, but I don't think the 49ers overlooked anyone. I believe the 49ers just ran into an extremely motivated Raiders team. This is a team that not only benched its star quarterback, but also told him to go home. When a team does that to its QB, it sends a message that the same kind of action can be taken against any other player. That is a very motivating message.

Not surprisingly, every member of the Raiders played like they were playing for their jobs yesterday. They played like the desperate players they are. Desperate for future paychecks. They nearly pulled it off.

They mentioned that the Raiders were running a different offense with Stidham and it seemed to catch the 49ers off guard. I expected Ryans to make some halftime adjustments but he didn't. Once LV realized they could throw deep on the Niners it was a track meet.

It looks like well struggle against elite receivers if we cant hurry the throw. Job 1 in our scheme is pressure. If four cant do it try 5, occasionally 6. I don't see any cavalry over the horizon though. We'll have to roll with who's been playing.

As a whole the defense is very good, but they get shredded by elite receivers pretty often. Cooper Kupp, Deandre Hopkins, Davante Adams, A.J Brown, Tyreek Hill etc. have all had field days against us.

I admittedly haven't watched any Raider games. But I kind of got the sense that perhaps the reason why Derek Carr ultimately got benched is that he doesn't execute the offense in the way that McDaniel wants him to. McDaniel is touted as a top offensive mind, and Stidham executing his offense with the talent they have on offense seems to reflect that. I think they're a better offense than people realize, given that their RB1 and WR1 are among the best in the league at their positions.

I'm disappointed by our defensive effort, but this hopefully acts as a reminder to the defense to reallllly tighten up for the playoffs. The remaining teams left in the field all field fantastic QBs, supporting casts, and offensive playcallers.
Its one thing to overlook an inferior opponent, the thing I don't understand is why did they keep having Lenoir over C. Ward covering Adams. Made no sense. Any casual fan could tell you that is a huge mismatch that Raiders would exploit.

Whatever the reason, the "desperate" level of intensity is what they will have to face in the playoffs where it is "lose and go home" for 60 minutes. The sooner you get used to it and deal with it, the better.

It happens pretty often. I'm sad examples escape me, but I remember this a lot. I can't clearly remember Quinn saying anything bad about Kyle, but I don't remember him defending Kyle in the aftermath either.

I felt like Kyle took the biggest blame somehow. He was just an OC...

He did and I don't remember anyone coming to his defense. I clearly remember Freeman, Matt Ryan, and Roddy White (retired by then) throwing Kyle under the bus. I can't remember Quinn's comments.

They never would've sniffed the Bowl, let alone a possible win without Kyle.

Unappreciative a*****es.

They definitely need to pick it up in the playoffs if they want to make a run at SB. Too many plays lately on money downs where the opposing QB has too much time to throw. Bosa and AA can't do everything. Ebukam hasn't been the same since the injuries; Drake Jackson is super raw; Kinlaw stinks. The guys I hope could step up are Omenihu and Jordan Willis. Willis has been good in his role and seemingly(I haven't looked at the snap counts) appears to be getting more snaps recently.

We're really missing that third pass rusher that's destroying 1-on-1s the way Arden Key did last year.

Agreed. Last year had Arden Key who was excellent as a nickel DT. And Ebukam really came on towards the playoffs. I thought Omenihu would provide more pass rush this season, he's okay at best. I thought Turay would be a key part of the rotation this season, he's been a dud. It may have to be Willis at the edge, and Givens at DT as the secondary pass rush contributors behind Bosa and AA. Ryans may have to step up his stunt game to manufacture pressures.

After the raider game, stunts are dead. Too many interstates created for stidham. Let the other teams play whack a mole finding our hot bltizer -- shaiir greenlaw warner cward jward lenoir -- everyone but hufanga who will miss the tackle. disciplined blitzers clog a lane, at least.

LVR would motion DAdams away from Mooney. They also put Adams in the slot.
Former Texans linebacker DeMeco Ryans, the San Francisco 49ers' highly-rated defensive coordinator, is not expected to pursue the job, according to sources. Ryans once filed a lawsuit against the Texans and the NFL seeking damages and alleging issues with the field surface's design and construction after suffering a torn Achilles at NRG Stadium on Nov. 2, 2014. Ryans is expected to be picky as he pursues head-coaching opportunities and isn't in a rush to leave the 49ers' high-caliber defense.
