I hope we play in the super bowl because it would give us the best chance to not lose personnel
he gone, thanks for the awesome coaching DM.... I'm sure Shanny already has an idea on who his successor will be

Atleast we stayed patient and waited for Kyle

It'll hurt. He has been way better than saleh was, and he was good too. I wonder who we will replace him with, possibly Fangio.

Literally the best decision Jed has made as owner of this team.

In all honesty. If i am going to the Texans, I am demanding a 6yr deal with 25% year 1, 20% year 2, 15% year 3, then 10% year 4-5-6. f**k your offsetting language, and if i make it to year 4 i have negotiating power.

Add in Massages whenever you want and I'm in.

If the Texans want a real shot at getting a decent head coach, they HAVE to offer a 6 year deal with no offset language - like Kyle got. Otherwise, they'd be dumb.

It won't be as DC. But I'd welcome him.

Team has been shaky as hell on defense lately, especially in the first half. Seems like any team can put up 30 on us now.

Will require Brock to put up 30-45 every game to get to the SB.

Huh? The Cards scored 13. Commanders scored 20. The Raiders were the aberration with 34. What games are you watching?

I'm happy for him, but no interviews until AFTER our season is done.

It doesn't work that way.

Its so bizarre to me that coaches focused on game planning for thier next playoff game are also up all night creating presentations and talk tracks for HC interviews.

seems counter productive to playoff integrity.

League seems to be slowly creeping towards that direction. Can't interview in person any personnel until after the wild card game now if they're in the play-offs.

That said a team CAN refuse to allow someone to be interviewed while their season is going. It has happened. It's just not normal.

agreed.

would seem like a toxic culture if you are denying people a chance to get promoted.

I deleted my post only because the rules keep changing and I'm not entirely sure what the current rules are.

I think there are limits in place this season that prevent anyone from interviewing in person until the season is over or wildcard game is over.

I believe head coaching positions can be blocked until the season is completely over..but it doesn't happen often.

I don't think anyone should be blocked from interviewing, but I do think it's fair to bar it from happening until the season is over..including play-offs.

Delaying is not denying, imo. And it's unfair to distract someone during the play-offs.

This happens every year with playoff teams. We did it to Atlanta with Kyle. We are not special in this regard.

Interesting perspective. I think if we go all the way and a team really likes him, they will wait like we waited for Kyle. Especially if the defense goes on a tear.

Lmao idk what he is talking about. The raiders put up 34 on us and then you'd have to go back 10 weeks ago to the chiefs for another bad score by our defense.

i am concerned about the broken plays we keep having. If some nobody can do that with an over the hill green, mahommes/Allen/burrow will feast on that. I just
hope 38 starts playing cleaner - he needs help for sure.

Yeah, but if a team really likes demeco and maybe another candidate equally - but know they'll lose one of them to another team if they wait too long. So sometimes teams like a candidate but don't want to risk not getting him down the road and not getting either guy.

if someone really wants him, and demeco will commit to them before actually being able to sign (like what Kyle did) then that'll happen.

I wonder if it would be better if no teams can start interviewing or hiring until after the Superbowl. So everyone has to wait until then to keep all candidates on a level playing field sort of like Free Agency.

Probably would never happen though.
Who would be the replacement in case he goes?

An older guy or a younger guy? I would love to see a savvy back seven coverage guy to complement our rush philosophy. Maybe we don't need to lose our dc for that.
Don't forget that Saleh interviewed with some teams and turned them down. He used the experience and waited until the next year before he left. Ryans may do the same. He's young enough that he'll be on the list again even if the Niners drop off a little next season. Any GM or owner that hires a HC based on what his team did while he was a coordinator is using the wrong criteria. HC is a different animal that requires more skills.
