I don't understand this either. I know the game plan will already be in place but interviewing hours before a game just looks bad. What if some players have some questions they want to ask him? He shouldn't even be thinking about another job hours before a playoff game.
It is probably the best day, maybe friday would have been better.
But if you wake up at 6am, eat breakfast, have a 30min conference call, leave for the field. Maybe do both in a 90min block.
But the other could be at 8pm after the game before going over any after win things.
Then go into next week with no distractions, and any HC(if selected) business can be held in the 2 weeks leading up to the SB.

If any player has urgent questions on gameday, something is SERIOUSLY wrong.

He's going to Houston

that would be a huge mistake. They are a mess and have no QB

They would have to give him (or anyone decent) a 6-year contract to take that rebuild job
I think the Sunday interviews are because there's probably none/very little game planning left to do on gamedays.
he's not a gone he's a coach.

I am giving the benefit of the doubt to Ryans too. Maybe it is a useful distraction to give his mind a break or at least minimally impactful. If you are stressing over details right before a competition late in a season you are generally doing it wrong. It seems like Lynch and company support their hires and see strategic value in helping them succeed long-term.

Too many great coordinators just use a HC opportunity as a payday. So many totally flop and ruin a great situation on their previous team over the money. Its hard to blame them, but it sucks that great teams get broken up over taking a job with a crap franchise.

I suggest you have this wrong, his performance in the Dallas game is in essence his interview.
they need to interview after the season is over
