Yet an exec from the cardinals, and a reputable reporter say that he did interview today. But all the sudden yesterday "a source" told the webzine that he didn't. Idk if we can believe this. Does not seem legit when there's 2 credible sources with names saying the opposite.

I have serious concerns about this defense.
I know everyone keeps hyping up this team as having the #1 defense in DVOA and all basic statistics but we are not playing well up front. The front 4 is not getting enough pressure or stopping the run as consistently as they were in the 1st 2/3 of the season. Teams are able to get us off balance too easily (Raiders, Seahawks) and march down the field on us. Add that to the fact that we are susceptible to getting beat over the top occasionally (Commanders, Raiders, Cardinals, Seahawks) and you have average defensive play.
The best thing the defense is doing is creating TOs and giving the ball back to our offense, which has been on fire.

Average point differential per win in these games? You can't let the single play breakdowns and single drive breakdowns define the overall success of the defense overall. Just gotta enjoy these wins and this season, this defense can beat any team still in the playoffs.

News media misinterpreting inaccurate source info because they want to be the first with 'breaking' news?

You are right about single play breakdowns/drives. Let's hope we are trending towards being more dominant again up front.

Every game is a separate entity. What happened last week or the last time teams faced each other doesn't really matter. Each game takes on a life of it's own. Sometimes that can be an early break like a turnover that starts things rolling. Teams can jump on those early opportunities and put the other team in an early hole causing them to make adjustments to the game plan.
Safe to say that all the teams left on the 49ers schedule if they make it to the SB are good teams with good to very good defenses. Fortunately the 49ers have a lot of weapons so that can give the defenses problems.

I know a lot of people are nervous about this game but I get the feeling that niners defense are gonna ball out today. If demeco is a candidate for a head coach somewhere, last thing he wants to do is play a bad game. He'll do everything to make sure his resume stays looking good .
