Whoever Demaco hire as the OC probably isn't the right person to fixed Russell Wilson.

Niners will get all their comp picks, just not all in one year. It's doled out in subsequent years. I'll find the article I read yesterday later...

The policy enacted in 2020 states: 'Clubs that develop a diverse employee who is hired in the position of Primary Football Executive or Head Coach at another club, will receive a draft choice compensation in the form of a compensatory draft pick in the third round in each of the next two drafts. If a club has two employees hired for either a head coach or GM position, then that club will receive third-round compensatory pick in the next three drafts

Wouldn't be shocked if that's the place Payton is waiting on (that or the Dallas job).

We lose a GM and HC same hiring cycle, they get an extra 3rd rd pick the next 3 yrs. We lose just one it's two yrs of 3rds.

You lose either a HC or GM in one hiring cycle you get two straight yrs of an extra 3rd. You lose both in the same cycle, you get an extra 3rd for 3 straight yrs.

best way to maximize it, would be to lose Ryans next yr… prefer not to lose him at all.

Maxed out? So no matter what personnel gets raided from the current staff, no more comp picks will be awarded?

Ok so there is a "penalty" for losing two in the same year in terms of net comp picks.
Lose two coaches in same year, net of three comp picks.
Lose one coach per year in two consecutive years, net of four comp picks. Is that right?

I wonder how this compares to how the Patriots lost coaches off their staff. Did they get this many lost coaches in the same short span? I can't remember any team being raided as much as the Niners have in the past few years.

They got raided pretty hard i just think it was over a longer period of time. seems like we've lost guys in bunches and Front office guys as well

Yeah see it says right there. The team would net three total comp picks if two coaches got hired away in the same season. That's whack because the team should net four comp picks, two per coach hired away. I remember thinking the 49ers got shafted because Saleh + Mayhew should have netted four comp picks.
Anyway, DeMeco should stay because no one should want to coach Russell and the 49ers would again be losing out on a comp pick since Ran Carthon already go hired away this offseason.
