There are some issues with Denver. Firast the good part. They have new owners with deep pockets.
Now the bad stuff. There isn't a clear cut person in charge. I hear one of the Waltons already said he wants the coach to report to him. That's a bad sign. Wison is kind of weird and may be hard for an OC to work with. Whoever that OC turns out to be. It would probably take an experience guy to deal with Wilson. He also eats up a good portion of the cap. I think they only have about $13 million in cap space going into next season. They have a late round 1st (#29 which would have been the Niners) but no second round pick.
That first season could be really tough while Ryans while he's getting his feet wet as a HC. How much control will e have? I'm guessing not much if the owner wants him to report directly to him. He's going to face 2 really good QBs twice a year in that division and maybe a 3rd depending on who LV signs.
If i'm Demeco, I pass and either take another opening if offered or wait until next year. There's no reason to panic like it's going to be his last chance.

Since Demeco Ryans has no ties to Wilson, whats the cap hit if they trade or cut him??

Crippling. He's basically unmovable until June 1st 2024 at the earliest
107 million dead cap to move off. No one will want to trade for him.

Russell Wilson, Rodgers, Carr, Watson, Jimmy G--reseting the qb contract. NFL not into giving qb huge contract that leaves team unable to field enough talent to go into the playoffs. Maybe this is what Baltimore is thinking with Lamar...

Selfishly, I'd like Meco to stay another yr. But guys who really want to be HCs tend to get antsy and take any HC slot that is there. As Saleh has seen, he would have been way better off waiting another yr until he had a better working knowledge of how to build a team, how to run a draft., etc., not to mention does he have an OC in the wings just waiting? DEN, despite all the $$, has lesser experience of owners, and has a really good QB who was screwed up by last HC and OC. Can Meco win in spite of that, plus whatever other problems DEN has? Saleh would have been a way better coach thinking on the above and hanging around here another yr. Seems like Meco is in the same situation.
Quinn didn't like the alternatives…and had he moved, DAL would have been a cherry slot, Jerry Jones notwithstanding. But Quinn stayed put and Meco would be wise to do the same.

I would take him back because I don't think he would leave for another HC gig. Would love to have some continuity with our coaches.

Agreed. A defensive HC is a bad fit for a Russell Wilson restoration project.

I'm not on the Vic train. One of the things that would make us attractive to the best young coaches is the ability to move up. We lose a lot of that if Vic is DC. We already have an unmovable playcaller.
