He deserved a proper job though, I know he played there, but he should know that ownership group is poisonous and therefore the job practically unachievable.

Watch them pass on Bryce Young for another QB with different "attributes".

No one thought Houston was a bad place until they handed GM duties to BOB and hired Jack Easterby.

Both those guys are gone now, Caserio seems like a solid GM, there's some nice young pieces on the defense and their draft pick supply is enormous.

The patronizing tone from fans like he's too dumb to know any better is incredible

As a player and as a coach he was always regarded as one of the smartest guys out there. Having been in that building himself for years, he has a much better idea than any of us yokels about what he's getting into. If he really thought the organization had a massive problem, he could have easily chosen Denver and taken that Wal-Mart money. Or gone and taken up Arizona on its interview offer.

As good as the Chiefs are nobody ever poaches Andy Reid's coaching staff.

They are not only getting a HC, but tips on how to build a dynasty level franchise from the ownership level. Kraft got his dynasty by hiring Pete Caroll, picking his brains on how the 49ers do things and reorganizing the Patriots along the 49er hierarchical structure. So these various owners want the 49er secret sauce by hiring who they can hire away from the 49ers.
Losing coaches every year with no hardware to show for it sucks.
well id like to think all these 3rd round compensations for staff poaching allowed us to get CMC....sorta..

Carroll was only with the 49ers for 2 seasons and they were already a dynasty. He wasn't around when they built that team. Ryans may have more insight on how to build a team but it still comes down to finding the right assistants and hitting on your draft picks.

Kyle and John rebuilt the Niners in 3 seasons and had them in the SB. I'll be shocked if Ryans does that.

Tap what again?

He will have a ton of draft picks at his disposal. They have:
#2 overall as well as #12 they got from Cleveland,
their own 2nd,
2 - 3rds.
4th,
5th,
4 - 6th.

Given that there are already some nice pieces there, if they do the draft well (Bryce Young?), Ryans could have a good run there. Let's hope he gets the QB pick better than his buddy Saleh.

Bryce Young was great in college but like Tua he's a little small. Will he be able to take the punishment in the NFL? Who knows but he's certainly not a sure thing. They don't have a lot of talent on that team which is why they finished so poorly.

agreed, would be easier if we had rings.

Purdy, Hurts, & Tua are the same size, should we start Trey Lance since he's bigger than Purdy?

I just don't understand how a QB's size is so relevant in today's NFL.

He should send some of those picks here for the Mighty Kinlaw and do us a favor.

You mean the same team who drafted Deshaun Watson?

They were racist when Watson couldn't keep his dick in his pants during massages.

They were racist when when they fired Cauley after one year. Then it was ok bc they hired Lovie, then last month they were racist bc they fired Lovie. Now they aren't racists anymore bc Demeco.

But they might be racist bc they might not draft a black QB. You guys are a joke. Just throw racism into any argument.

Your summary didn't include my main problem with their organisation which is the McNair family themselves, and that isn't changing.

Demeco is up against it, I believe he is mostly there out of nostalgia from his playing career, that's not saying he's dumb.

I wish him luck, but I'd be surprised if he was successful there, luckily for him he's young enough to get fired, become a DC again and then get another HC gig down the line. I hope he chooses better next time.
