No, our game plan will vary and we'll do whatever we need to do that particular week to get the win."

Love hearing this - a defense that adjusts weekly to the opponent. Sure all teams do this to a degree, but some will come with a completely new game plan week to week. Saleh began to do this after being a "Seattle Cover 3" the first two years. DeMeco's comments above imply that the 49ers will continue to build upon that method of gameplanning. Sounds great in theory, and I believe it's the most effective way of defending the opponent, as long as he comes with the optimal game plan.

This is a far cry from, "We're just going to execute our defense to the highest level" to now...weekly game plans to attack offensive weaknesses was something Fangio excelled at too. This makes me very happy!
I'm intrigued with what DeMeco is doing with Marcell Harris. Hybrid S/LB. If it doesn't take away the run D too much, we're getting a guy with coverage and range in the middle of the field where most offenses like to operate.

I love that he feels he's even more of a "play maker" in that role too. I'm just happy he's focused on and encouraging play makers. The previous mindset felt more like "sound (but conservative) play."

What he'll likely do is recommend we send Marcell "Whiffner" Harris to another team.
Sounds like a ton of single high S again (so far).

Yeah…

I really hope we're not using Hufunga as our single high safety.

The Tarvarius Moore injury looking more and more devastating.

And I have a sneaky suspicion Tartt might end up on I.R. too.

I saw split safety looks too from that day where a bunch of practice clips were shown. Seemed like a healthy mix.

Good, that's more encouraging, honestly.

With a combination of numbers, film, and projections, the rankings were averaged...

3. San Francisco 49ers: A healthy Nick Bosa should return the 49ers' front seven to the top of the pack in 2021. Even without Bosa, the team ranked a respectable 13th in pressure rate.
Is it just me, or are the Demeco interviews boring as heck? I mean, in a way it's good because no one gets any material. But, also bad, because.. no material lol.

His answers are pretty vanilla. Saleh would occasionally give some insight or say something noteworthy.
DeMeco Ryans: Everything we do is about taking the ball away

Base on this, Jimmy Ward would be benched. Maybe Ha Ha Clinton-Dix starts at FS.
