Really looking forward to seeing how his defense differs from Saleh's defense or if it looks similar. Everything I've read and heard seems like it'll be more aggressive, so that's the storyline I'm looking forward to most week one.

Same. What I want to see from Ryans will take several weeks. I'd like to see him change the gameplan based on the opponent. Versus Goff, maybe we crank up the pressure with blitzes. Versus Hurts (week 2 PHI) perhaps we crank up the coverage disguises to fool the young QB.

Considering we would get a 3rd round pick if he becomes a HC, I would say its important.

Run defense looked a bit iffy, but we do seem to bounce back within drives. We need to adjust to the roll outs better though.

I wonder if the high rate of DL rotation hurts the run defense. A DLman gets blocked in certain ways and adjusts accordingly. Rotating a lot drive to drive doesn't allow the DL to get a quick sense of what the OL is doing to them.
Anyway, run game could be a non factor now that DET has lot of catching up to do.

Maybe. But from the 1st run these guys were getting sealed off or just blown out of the way. DJ was getting destroyed. Kerr and Street were as well. I'm just gonna give Detriot credit. Eagles o line is even better. This guys just have to play better. Street at least made a few plays in terms of pass rushing. Arden Key looks totally lost. The AA/Ford combo on the right side looks good.

Without JV this secondary is trash. DR gonna have to work magic. Can't be aggressive with these CB's
