Saleh wasn't established.
49ers didn't have playoffs/superbowl expectations when Saleh first started though.

I wasn't a fan of when Saleh was hired. Not sure why Saleh matters.

Gonna be rough defensively until things hopefully get under control. Rookie DC and now our corners are backups. Hopefully Demo is a 5th round gem. Other than that our pass rush has to really get good if we don't wanna be in shootouts every week. And fix that inside run defense too.

All off season we heard about playing more man. No way they can still do that. No way they can blitz more either.

They played a lot of soft zone amd it was working early. His play calling really reminded me of Saleh, year 1. Pretty straightforward and you can tell he's figuring out the chess game and anticipating his opponent.
One reason they got in trouble was they were willing to give up a 10 play, 4 minute drive when up 24 points. Would've been fine if we actual recover the onsode kick. We still could've had a fumble and still been alright.
It was a cascade of events. He has to learn to trap more in those situations.

I would caution people against making broad assumptions based off of Week 1. It happens every single season. Some teams come in and play absolutely out of their mind, others struggle but then find their footing later on in the season. Tampa's loss last year in Week 1 had people wondering if Brady is "finally done." I'm sure we'll see some similar criticism of Rodgers after Green Bay got worked today. We'll have a better idea of where exactly this team is after Week 3 or 4 when teams are starting to settle down and talent starts to win out.

The defense played well up until about the 4th q where I think they took their foot off the gas. First half Goff averaged like 4.4 yards per completion. The 2 areas of weakness that initially stood out was our run game, and I also am not sure why we didn't man up Warner on Hockinson. He's clearly their best receiving weapon and we have a top 3 cover LB in the game. That part was frustrating. Lenoir had a strong game from the looks of it, I really like that kid. Will be interesting to see your breakdown as well as THL when the All 22 comes out

With JV's injury I'm not sure how they move away from the soft coverage. We will see how much they trust Thomas and Lenoir. Looking like they might be the starting duo next week. We know DJ is trash and i have 0 faith in Josh Norman. Hopefully the pass rush picks up.

I didn't get to watch today's game. I'm curious as to why the defense was gashed up the middle early and often. Det was moving the ball on the ground until they were forced to pass more by our offense.

No, everything was great. The defense played perfect. The refs were at fault for not calling holding. The defense got 3 sacks. They played great! Nothing to worry about.

No kinlaw for starters, our dline doesn't have those kind of big bodies.
But then we started crashing from the edges
