So much attention on Bosa who ever is playing next to him should get some clean up sacks. Looked like the Lions chipped or double teamed Bosa a lot. Good pressure from Ford as well on this play. any word on Greenlaw's injury?

And during a short week cross country, it can get ugly
I imagine the defense could also be still adjusting to applying the new tweaks in game now. We'll see as it goes along.

How were they handled before? Only at halftime?

Every team who's having success running the ball against us.... Why pass when you can run It down our throats?.. Hopefully we fix the Issue before then.

we just got used to being so good there. so it was a shock sunday when we saw it go to hell

We weren't that good inside in 2019. Went to the redskins rain game and even the washington fans were demanding they should run the ball right up the middle because "they weak inside!!!"

It's a known soft spot, schematically, in this wide9 defensive front. The DTs have to be on point and hold their ground which was not happening vs DET. I wonder how much of it was due to lack of film vs the first time DET coaching staff where the 49ers defense wasn't sure what they would specifically be facing entering week 1. Not worried yet, let's allow Ryans to make his adjustments.
See how he does the next few weeks, I hope he does well because I know most 49ers fans have their pitchforks ready.
Whitner mentioned yesterday that secondary seemed lost in the new scheme. That LB's we're out of place most of the game.

Then today Whitner said not too worry too much, even though he sure as hell seemed worried. I can see why he would comeback and downplay it considering he covers the 9ers lol
The question now is, now that we'll be facing a more mobile QB, does Ryan replace AA with Ebukam?

Saleh would leave AA in there to get abused laterally.

I doubt it. Get ready for some classic AA lowlights.

How can DR possibly be more aggressive and play more man with all these injuries?

He has to tweak whatever plan he had coming into the season that involved relying on Verrett to lock down one side. Since Verrett was playing RCB, usually the weakside of the offensive alignment, Ryans could count on Verrett to lock down the single WR side while he threw numbers (multiple defenders) at the other side of the field. That allowed for creativity. With questions at CB, Ryans' ability to adjust will be put to the test early.

I didn't even think about that aspect regarding Verrett. This will be a very telling week on personnel usage and scheme/design.
