Great improvement, but let's not get too excited. Smith stepped put of bounds negating that td. The blocked fg. It could have snowballed. With thatbsaid, I was REALLY impressed how they overcame that sluggish start.

The step of of bounce was a good defensive play by Lenoir. He leaned on the WR and forced the WR to step out of bounce. That was a good use of the boundary by Lenoir. That was good play, not luck.

He was an inch out of bounds that had to be reviewed to be seen. I doubt the 49ers grade that as a positive rep.

I thought it was Reagor who stepped out of bounds on that long no td

You're right. My mistake.

Any stats out there showing how often the 49ers blitzed Hurts? Ryans cranked it up several notches compared to vs DET. I thought it was a great game plan going up against some speedy WRs and a mobile QB.
What I like about this is that blitzing isn't an identity for the 49ers defense, it's a tool in the tool belt. Use it if it's the best way to defend a certain offense/QB.

^^Nice read by Kinlaw there. He didn't fall for the trap block.

The first thing that jumped out to me as well. That's some damn good heads up play by Kinlaw.

Freds a beast, of course.

Dennis Brown said he saw three instances where he crushed the trap block. Great job big fella.

Absolutely. It's hard to stay put on plays like that but you can tell he's taken coaching very well. That along with being an unmovable huge force, and a mean mudda f er is a good sign. Just need that knee to hold up

Seriously, gotta recognize that.

Yes he did great along with his players executing.
I wonder is DR is holding the Cb slot blitz in his pocket to break out at some point this season? It worked very well last year down the stretch.

Kinlaw and Armstead have to work on their O-Line holds on the tackle-end stunts to free up our DEs to clock the QB.
