This! We need DeMeco next season, I dont see how we hold onto him next season tho....I hope we have another coach on our staff that can step up because DeMeco will def get a HC job sooner than later!

Everything I hear is that Mike McDaniel continues to crush it with the Dolphins. If he gets that job, he will be the fourth member of Mike Shanahan's offensive staff in Washington to become a HC. Two of the former members play for the NFC title on Sunday. Or so I hear.

We've seen Shanahan switch DCs without a problem.

We've never seen him without McDaniel. He was there in Houston, Washington, Cleveland, Atlanta and now the 49ers. He's been Shanahan's right hand guy for over a decade. I think people might be slightly underestimating the potential loss if he goes elsewhere.

Feel like McDaniel would be the biggest staff loss we've had in a long time. Odds are exactly 50-50 at this point, but I don't see Miami picking Kellen Moore over him.

I agree with many of the points said here.

I think losing him could be a significant loss because he is Shanahans main guy for a long long time.

And also, he really doesn't seem like a head coach type of person. Would be definitely an interesting hire but I would bet on it not working out.

I do think he is gone though with the Giants recent hire and the Dolphins are getting him.

I think Scangarello can do a good job subbing in for McDaniel, also Kyle is pretty well known now as a offensive wizard, he can probably pick the best of the college coaching litter if he wants. Holmgren was just a BYU QB coach and Walsh brought him to the 49ers.

McDaniel plays a huge role in the run game for this team, which is the bread and butter of this offense.
