For Saleh/Mayhew they received one 3rd last year, one 3rd this year(going to Miami) and one 3rd next year.
Thanks Phoenix. I wish they treated all of the hirings separately so we would have 4 3rd rounds picks instead of 3

The way I understood it, last off season after losing Saleh & Mayhew, was three straight year's getting a comp 3rd. So for example, 2021, 2022, and 2023.
So last year we traded the 2021 3rd for Lance, and after McD gets hired we'll have two 3rd's in 2022, and two 3rd's in 2023.
When two (or more assuming) minority candidates get hired from your organization in the same off season, instead of getting the usual two 3rd's for each, you get 3 over the next 3 years. So ideally you would like to lose just one a year so you get the two 3rd's. For example if we lose Ryans next off season, it would be 3 3rd's (one for Mayhew, one for McD and one for Ryans) in 2023 and one in 2024.
Don't know if this helps anyone confused (or correct me if I'm wrong). Hate to see Mike go but congrats and wish nothing but success to him!

Yup. But if McDaniel's playbook is anything like Kyle's. It may take a year to learn. The offense is notoriously complicated. Mike would be smart to hire experience coaches to his team. Similar to what mcvay did when he started

Would be interesting if McDaniel brought in someone like Fangio to be his DC. There's a lot of experienced coaches still floating around out there and McDaniel has been around the NFL quite a bit.

You are right, I was just commenting in the McDaniels thread that I wish they did not have that policy if you get two minority assistants taken in the same year you only get 3 total 3rds vs 4

Seems like we should be prioritizing minority coaches so when they leave we keep netting good draft picks…

He didn't. Kyle has always called the plays. His OC/top offensive assistant's job is to largely focus on gameplanning and the run game. McDaniel handled that since 2017. Now it'll be Lynn's job.
So Phx you don't think we'll name someone OC though? Who do you think it'll be?

Good luck to him. He's kind of an eccentric individual. I hope he's ready to be a leader of men.

(even though I'm still convinced we deal Jimmy + others to GB for Rodgers)
You're "convinced" we trade for Rodgers?!
I am. I think Kyle and Lynch are going to go over the top to get Rodgers.

And more importantly, you think GB will hand the niners Rodgers after beating them. Man, the egg on their face…. Lol there's no way man.

Schefter set off some social media outrage by posting McDaniel "identifies as multiracial"
People who have no idea about his background are losing their s**t based on how he looks

Kyle can go back to not having an official OC and Lynn filling all of McDaniel's duties, or maybe they promote someone like Slowik, maybe they bring in an outside hire? I dunno but we're about to see a whole lot of new additions to the coaching staff considering that they already have to replace a TE coach, a ST coordinator, at least a couple offensive assistants and possibly more depending on who McDaniel takes with him to Miami.

The memes on social media are hilarious. Some are saying we should only get one 3rd rd pick because he is half black lol.
