Kyle can go back to not having an official OC and Lynn filling all of McDaniel's duties, or maybe they promote someone like Slowik, maybe they bring in an outside hire? I dunno but we're about to see a whole lot of new additions to the coaching staff considering that they already have to replace a TE coach, a ST coordinator, at least a couple offensive assistants and possibly more depending on who McDaniel takes with him to Miami.

Maybe Lynn gets the run game coordinator along with being assistant HC.

As for McDaniel taking coaches, I just hope we don't lose Kocurek, Turner, Welker, Betcher, Tapp, & Holland.

Wish him the best of luck. I still can't imagine him as a HC.

SF should be getting two comp 3rd at least

Good, I want the 49ers to keep DL coach Kris Kocurek, LB coach Johnny Holland, Senior Defensive Assistant/Run Game Specialist James Betcher, & Assistant DL/Pass Rush Specialist Darryl Tapp. Also RB coach Bobby Turner, & WR coach Wes Welker.

This is what happens when race enters into the equation. I had no idea Mcdaniels was mixed until a couple weeks ago.

The race card is going to be pulled and then quickly retracted once they learn he is mixed.

White progressives, while insufferable, are a gift that keeps on giving. The constant foot in mouth is f**king great.

The way I understood it, last off season after losing Saleh & Mayhew, was three straight year's getting a comp 3rd. So for example, 2021, 2022, and 2023.

So last year we traded the 2021 3rd for Lance, and after McD gets hired we'll have two 3rd's in 2022, and two 3rd's in 2023.

When two (or more assuming) minority candidates get hired from your organization in the same off season, instead of getting the usual two 3rd's for each, you get 3 over the next 3 years. So ideally you would like to lose just one a year so you get the two 3rd's. For example if we lose Ryans next off season, it would be 3 3rd's (one for Mayhew, one for McD and one for Ryans) in 2023 and one in 2024.

Don't know if this helps anyone confused (or correct me if I'm wrong). Hate to see Mike go but congrats and wish nothing but success to him!

You are right, I was just commenting in the McDaniels thread that I wish they did not have that policy if you get two minority assistants taken in the same year you only get 3 total 3rds vs 4

Seems like we should be prioritizing minority coaches so when they leave we keep netting good draft picks…

I concur
my favorite thing i learned due to this hiring

KS and MM fake yelling at manziel for a trick play

Lmaooo if I'm the 49ers I'm hiring an all black coaching staff. Idgaf I want 20 3rd rounders.

And Kyle is way ahead of everyone in that department.

Sucks that such incentives have to be, but we've benefited from these rules so I can't complain.

I'll take a good coach and then risk getting a compensatory pick or two if or when they get poached from our staff.

And it offers POC coaches a tried and true pathway to HC gigs, so we'll attract more talent.
Football coaches are a bunch of young football geeks now. Been trending that way the last 7-10 years. Old timer coaches might have a problem with that lol
