Very odd choice for the Dolphins. They would fire Brian Flores and then go after someone like Mike McDaniel? Something doesn't add up.

f**k off Dolphins!!!! He's our weird little OC.
Lol

From what i read Flores and the GM had issues over Tua. Flores wanted to move on but the GM who picked Tua doesn't. Dolphins choose to stick with the GM over Flores. The gm has been with the organization for over 10 years.

Maybe they want the polar opposite of Brian Flores.

McDaniel is great, but he's not what comes to mind when I think of a HC in the NFL.

Yeah, I think his current title is more of an Assistant OC.

HaHa - he is a little weirdo and he is ours!
I like McDaniels, quirky interviews included. But, that would be a risky hire by the Dolphins. Just not sure he has built up much of a network for assistant coaches he would need. Not sure why they would want to interview him.

There's your problem right there. He's like another Bruce Allen. Maybe they'll figure it out after they hire and fire two more HC.
Have you seen this guy do a press conference? He's not going anywhere. He's a great X's and O's guy but not a good fit for a Head Coach role.

These types of battles over who the QB should be has led to an end to many successful coaches and/or GM's. Bill Walsh parted ways with the 49ers in 1988, partly over frustrations over his attempt to replace Joe Montana with Steve Young. Eddie DeBartolo prevented that from happening.

More recently, the Dolphins cut Ryan Tannehill loose. The thought was he would never be a winning QB. While he isn't flashy and great at the position, he's still guided the Titans to some fairly good seasons.

Perhaps that's the reason why the Dolphins GM wants to give Tua another season or two of seasoning before giving up on him. He gave up on Tannehill. Look what happened there.

Why do teams gotta come around and poach our FO every offseason. Get ya grubby hands off our coaches *unless they are a minority and we get picks back

McDaniels is half black. Would we receive any picks if he were to be hired?
If the 49ers manage to go deep into the playoffs, I predict there will be many raids on Kyle Shanahan's coaching staff. Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch spent three seasons tearing down and rebuilding the 49ers. By the third year, the work paid off with an NFC West title and a trip to the Super Bowl. Now, it's a second trip to the playoffs in three seasons. That demonstrates a level of success. Losing franchises want that kind of winning strategy. They will attempt to poach staff away in hopes of striking gold.

He's got some good jokes though.

The annual rape of our coaching and adminstation begins early this year.

I'll put his chances of being a HC at <10%

This, just listening to him at presser I don't see a HC right now or really ever
