I'm almost embarrassed how much this guy dominated our team over the years.

He didn't really. His defense did. The majority of his starts against the 9ers were mediocre games that had one or two play at end because the defense kept them in the game.

I respectly disagree. That is a big serving of disrespect. Wilson cut out the collective hearts of all 49er fans through a very long stretch of time with some outstanding QB play. As much as I hated the man, and I did, I won't make the mistake of calling him "mediocre." None of those games, or the players involved, were mediocre.

I did like watching them choke away a Super Bowl win, however. That was fun! All those videos that popped up on YouTube were satisfying to watch.

Wilson's crime, if you can call it that, is he just got old. His scrambling ability was legendary. Just when you thought he couldn't possibly pop another big run and drive a stake through your heart, he did. Time and again. But that doesn't last. Wilson is a shell of the player he once was. I don't know why Denver shelled out that kind of money for a player who was no longer nearly as effective as he once was. But they did, and that is on them.

Wilson played well against the 49ers but while he did decline the guy played a lot of backyard football. He went through all those coordinators and he still couldn't process or read defenses, the word was always that Pete protected him and if he got away from that he'd get exposed. Well he got away from Pete and got exposed in Denver, despite all the different coordinators they ended up giving him the same play types because that's all he could do. Russell Wilson is a prime example of a cancerous presence and I'm grateful as a Niner fan the brass chose to appease the egomaniac over the team, because that ended up ruining their franchise, the effects of the interception are still felt today and I love it.
Cant stand dude, but he is putting together a very good season. His on pace stats after last night are:

67.9 completion %
3,411 passing yards
34 touchdowns
8 interceptions
104 passer rating

I don't think he's having a good year, so much as Payton has helped figure out a recipe, which oddly is take the ball out of his hands. so no real cooking from Russ..
limit his pass attempts, run the football, play D,

I think the real story in DEN is the D turnaround, from giving up 70, to holding KC to 9, and locking down BUF so hard, they fired their OC. now that's a story..
they even firesaled some of the D pieces, as we know.

Last night he had some old russell wilson type plays. Statistically hes doing well. Now i'm not saying hes as good as maholmes but he has better stats than maholmes this season and the only difference is that KC's defense is playing better than Denvers.

Everyone is on point here.

Wilson mostly did ok versus the 49ers because our offense could never really f**kING SCORE when he was on the field. Somehow him being on the other sideline summoned high level defense from his team, each and every time.

The breaking point for me is that the lowest score of a Niner game in recent memory is an 11-10 loss in Denver, of course to Wilson. Denver's D just so happened to be amazing against our boys. Just completely shut down our squad better than everyone else, the last few years.

The 2019 games, same thing....we start well but then Carroll adjusts well and then no points scored, and then the D has to hold off long enough to outlast them (week 17 in Seattle) or get lucky defensive TD to get us back in the game (week 10 loss at home, Armstead or Buckner TD, I forget).

2020 the injuries...

2021, same crap....start strong at home, Jimmy goes down. In Seattle, we uncharacteristically suck it up enough to let them score enough points....the one time we score a bit, they scored more.

2022 now Wilson's gone and their defense can't stop us worth a damn. Mind you, game 1 was Lance & Jimmy together.......then Purdy did the unthinkable as a rookie against Carroll in Seattle on short week? HOW???????

f**king Wilson.

And the point stands.....the Rams have embarrassed him so many times, maybe more with a s**tty coach than McVay. I just want to see him annihilated JUST ONCE before I die. I can't stand losing to him.......it's embarrassing.

Yes, if you allow Wilson to stay in a one score game against you, he eventually will find a big play. Somehow someway, against us he could do that better than other teams that have limited him (like say the Jets game this year).

Cardinals have as well. Many many teams have kicked his ass, yet we can not, even with him on a new team with a s**tty down year........

Some solace maybe for seeing him do OKAY against KC recently....but KC has beaten Denver a thousand in a row, so I guess it's not so annoying for them.

If Wilson is off the Broncos next year, we have a shot at playing him before 2026.

I just want him smoked.

Ehhhhh...they have 30 more pass attempts on the year than rush attempts.

In the last three weeks :

VS Buffalo they were pretty well balanced run to pass.
VS KC they ran more than they passed.
VS GB they passed more than they ran.

best metric is ranks

they rank 30th in pass attempts, out of 32 obvi

that speaks pretty clear, they are hiding Russ,
lil ironic, as Russ wanted to 'cook' (basically tired of run heavy SEA)

and this is a team that allowed 70, I imagine you abandon the run in those spots..

Purdy is 26th, they must be hiding him too lol.

Russ has played well, hes not all pro but he's been pretty decent. Stop trying to argue with everyone on this

I wouldn't say hiding in SF, that's just how KS does it
he's annually very low in pass attempts, and notice with JG, BP, you name it
we are built to run, not the drop back pass game

now contrast with Sean P, who was putting up 5k in a pass first Saints O, ask yourself what his MO is, course when Brees slowed down, Sean had to lean more into the ground in Nola also, its a function of recognizing a QB is slowing down, both cases.. and Russ was never Brees, to begin with
