565 lbs total.

The four inner plates on either side look to be 45s and the outer 3 are 25s, Add in 55lb bar as Hysterical points out.

Great control as well. Clearly a technician.

I'm really excited to see him in this system. All the time he had to spend working on reading and reacting can now be spent working on his rush technique.

I think it shows a confidence in our linebacking corps at least.

It will be interesting to see if the run defense numbers stay solid, when the pass rush is dominating and the opposing offense shifts to running the ball to try to cool the heat.

sounds like he will be in blitz/3rd down packages exclusively

I love how people are throwing random numbers out there.

There's 3 25s and 4 45s on each side.

6 x 25=150

8 x 45=360

Standard Olympic barbell=45

Add all that up and you get 555 pounds.

I won't go that far in terms of predicting the long term but I do think he is currently the most underrated player on the team and will have the so called "breakout year" this season.

You think? Man most of what I've seen is effort & coverage sacks/pressures. I think he's got a great motor (given he's only gotten like 20 snaps a game so far) and I love the athletic profile…hopefully he figure out a pass rush plan.

liked the signing, wish we would have done more though.

Trust me. I'm a snob for good hand placement and technique for rushing the passer and I understand this kid does not have it. But I think Ebukam is such a good athlete that he will become one of better defensive players just from being able to chase down the mobile QBs in our division and playing the run/option. He doesn't need to be a great rusher to make a big impact and I think he will benefit from this attacking defense more than most players on the team.

You are probably right about the bar being 45lbs vs 55lbs so I'll accept 555 instead of 565, but I demand a flame war regarding just exactly how much the elastic bands took off.

I was assuming it's 55 cause back in my day we would bend the 45 pound bars doing squats.

Oh I agree, I think he will be great at setting an edge/chasing a QB down on those RPOs. He's a stud athlete without question. He will make an impact there…I also can see him winning based off explosiveness/motor/effort, this one gap go get the QB defense will benefit him.

End of the day rushing the passer comes down to technique as much as athletic ability. IMO he's lacking there (you agree). He more of a subpackage guy in regards to rushing the passer. We need someone that can actually rush the passer consistently opposite Bosa, especially early in the season. I don't think that guy is on this team (unless Ford magically fixed his back). I really don't want to see AA out there as much as he was last yr either.

If all the plates are 25 your still off and bar is 55 additional.

It's probably a 45lb bar and with rubber band assist it don't count. Thanks though!

Your phone is clearly better than mine. 😆 Is can only see 25lbs. I threw 325 across the board. subtracted the bar with band assistant.

I totally get where you are coming from. Cheaper to get a 55lb bar of lower quality steel than to get a really nice 45lb bar... or at least that's the reason I remember hearing.

3 * 10 / 5 + 46 / 3 * 32 - 123 * 63 / 134 + Jimmy G = Super Bowl Win

Now 234 / 34 * 63 * 221 / Trey Lance - 234 / 642 + 1616 = Joe Montana Is the GOAT
