Does anyone else think Ahmad Brooks is a good comp for this guy?

No.

Ahmad Brooks was 2 inches taller, 30 lbs heavier, and won primarily with speed. Ebukam is a lot smaller and despite that is primarily a power rusher and wins through contact and effort. But I could see Ebukam developing into an Ahmad Brooks-type impact player if that's what you mean. Brooks was very young and underdeveloped but showed tons of potential when he got here. 49ers put him in a position to flourish, and he did just that.
Brooks was super underrated. Dude was so good at setting the edge and still racked up quite a few sacks. He was just overshadowed by Aldon.

Man that defense. Smith bros, Ray Mac, Brooks with Bowman and Willis in the middle. Then Whitner and Goldson laying the wood.

The defense under Harbaugh & Fangio was legit, Justin Smith, Aldon Smith(before he went dumbass off the field), Ray McDonald, Patrick Willis, Ahmad Brooks, NaVorro Bowman, secondary wasn't great, Whitner and Goldson couldn't cover for s**t, I remember Goldson's FA year, he thought he'd cash in, came back on a 1yr $2M deal, it's like how Ward came back in 2019 on a 1yr $5M deal. We had a lot of talent, but a lot of that talent came way before the Harbaugh era, Gore(2005), Vernon(2006), Willis/Staley(2007), Iupati/Davis/Bowman(2010), plus McDonald, Justin Smith, Brooks were already here, I think Goldson too, I think there was a sense of optimism when in 2011 they actually spent some money in FA, but after that, Baalke went cheap, or gave out bad deals, Vance McDonald, Torrey Smith, Dockett(never played a down). I'll gladly take the current team under John & Kyle over Harbs & Baalke, because Jed is now hands off on all football operations, where he meddled in Harbs and Baalke's business, but when Harbaugh says the locker room is for men or real men, yeah as your boss, I'd be pissed too.

And while the defense was great for us under Harbs, the offense was meh, I mean frigging Greg Roman as OC, then when Harbs refused to fire him, that's when they fired Harbs, I actually wanted Fangio in 2015, Idk how I got through 2015(Tomsula) & 2016(Chip Kelly).

If I was gonna try to throw out a comp and a beast case scenario...I would say Haason Reddick and how he was used.

Yeah, for sure, Ahmad was a great player.

Underrated for sure.

Kind of like how Chip Banks was under-rated because of LT.

Even if Chip Banks?
Love hearing about Samson and the explosiveness, I mean the combine numbers and film back that all up...it wasn't a shock.

I will hold expectations until the pads come on regarding DL/OL though...right now the DL should have an advantage overall.

He was good to go off sides at least once per game lol
I didn't even consider how Dee Ford could help this dude. They're very similar athletes. It sounds like Ebukam has been applying a lot of what he's picked up from Dee in regards to speed rushing.

This. Brooks played SAM in Fangio's 3-4.

I hated when fans compared him to the WILL position of Aldon Smith.

Totally different roles. The SAM's priority was primarily 1) read to set the edge 2) if free, then pass rush off that

He was rarely told to just play with his hair on fire at the snap. This is yet another issue with PFF grades.
Brooks was a freak of nature... his problem was always focus, at times it seemed he would get bored or something and just get lost in the game... however, during big games he was always a beast and more often than not was delivering a big play when the game was on the line

if he gets even a little better technique- and having a rush plan-wise, also playing a simplified role just coming off the edge for us

If there's one thing Baalke was good at, it was personnel management in acquiring defensive players.

You mean Scott M. Most of those guys were Scotty M players.

This
I like what I've seen so far from this guy. Very explosive off the LOS.
