No.

Ahmad Brooks was 2 inches taller, 30 lbs heavier, and won primarily with speed. Ebukam is a lot smaller and despite that is primarily a power rusher and wins through contact and effort. But I could see Ebukam developing into an Ahmad Brooks-type impact player if that's what you mean. Brooks was very young and underdeveloped but showed tons of potential when he got here. 49ers put him in a position to flourish, and he did just that.
Brooks was super underrated. Dude was so good at setting the edge and still racked up quite a few sacks. He was just overshadowed by Aldon.

Man that defense. Smith bros, Ray Mac, Brooks with Bowman and Willis in the middle. Then Whitner and Goldson laying the wood.

I remember how bad I wanted brooks in the supplemental draft, then cinci got him I was pretty bummed, but hey it all worked out.(other than winning a sb)

Brooks was the consummate pro. High energy, excellent in the run game and setting the edge, solid pass rusher. Very low maintenance player. I miss that guy.
I thought he looked kinda slow like he was holding back. I read that he had a sack yesterday. Maybe I was confused and looking at the wrong guy.

He looked pretty darn explosive to me

He had a coverage sack. He looked OK overall.

I'll take that. Guys probably aren't showing many moves or anything special in pre season

Me too. He's gonna be a nice situational pass rusher and better than what they had on defense in recent years, anyone remember Cassius Marsh or how about Roderick Green. lol

I laughed at seeing a Lemonier out there for the chargers. Those were the days.

The stupid penalty at the end made me remember those days for sure.

He's gotta be related to Corey. That's not the most common last name

OK Tabor. LOL
His biggest strength will be keeping QB's inside the pocket which has been an issue for the Niners in past years. He will come in handy when facing those mobile QB's that have given the Niners trouble.

I think his strength will be running down QBs that escape the pocket which has been the problem. He got his sack vs LAC in what I think will be his typical way of getting sacks. QB gets pressured, tries to run away, Ebukam chases him down.

Exactly what I was about to post. Ebukam is going to be a vacuum in that he's going to do a lot of cleaning up via effort and athleticism. Until his technique improves as a pass rusher, I consider him more of a supplementary player that makes the sum better than a pillar in our pass rush. And there's nothing wrong with that. All the great DLs throughout history have those guys.
