Ebukam seems out of place in this defense so far. That could change with more reps and time with Kocurek, but right now, he's not the type of player you just line up and have attack. He ain't Dee Ford who transcends scheme with his ability to rush the passer.

He's better off dropping into coverage, used as a moving piece in games and disguised rushes, but that's not this defense.

we never knew what to do with thomas. we still do not know what to do with aa and if your theory is right. we get players then no clue what to do with them. i do not blame people for questioning the gm coach and coaches around here. we sure as hell know that we love to cover wide outs with linebackers

True but once Hyder's price tag dropped significantly he should have been the move. That one bothered me.

I agree. Should of signed Hyder and with the savings signed Casey Hayward

So far six games into the season, Ebukam is not looking like a good FA signing at all considering how much the Niners gave him (2 yrs., $12M) and how little he's produced. As last night showed once again, he was practically invisible. I saw him covering a screen in the backfield in the first half, which was a rare play in which he was productive...I think I saw him a few more times maybe. Didn't see him in on any tackles.

If this guy was signed for the amount he was based on him being available/dependable and having a high motor, that only can take you so far in this league and so far we're seeing just that with his limited-to-no production game in and game out. As elguapo said above, would have much rather resigned Hyder and signed a proven CB like Hayward that's shown good ability in the past.

He was supposed to replace Dee Ford at DE on passing downs
Dee Ford miraculously healed his back

I saw Bosa at DT a few times on passing downs last night so maybe that is how we will try to get all 3 on the field at once
