He needs more plays, Key needs to be on the field less.

He has one sack against a rookie QB on a rebuilding squad without their best player and folks are ready to call this pick up a win??? Lol

Yeah he's been invisible for most of the season. I think he had a off sides call on 3rd down too? Waste of cash.

Right and it appears we can move off of him after this season with a minimal cap hit. And they should.
Anyone have the # of snaps he played?
Anyone have video of the Academy Award for best flop by a QB ever that got the penalty on Samson. Fox quickly cut away from the replay.
He had a sack and that's great. And I know theres plenty of season left. He can play a lot better from here.

But man. Free agency strategy needs to change. Why can't they just pay for established stars. Its like with this and McKinnon.

They claim that they see something on film and that this player will translate and be a beast in OUR SYSTEM. Then it blows up in their faces. How many god damn times man.

Yes the plan should have been to resign Kerry Hyder. Not go for cheap deals and penny stocks. And then hope and pray the dude turns into a stud

I'm not against the strategy, but they seemingly pay far more than necessary. I think in the early days they had to pay more. Bad team + free agency inflation prices which partially explains McKinnon. But the Ebukam signing when Hyder was out there? I don't get it.

They basically said that they evaluated Ebukam and feel he is a better player than Hyder. I think we can dump him and not have a ton of cap issues. Then go spend that money on a legit pas rusher.

$8.25M cap hit if we keep him next year.

$1.75M dead cap if we cut him.

He gone.
I mentioned this off-season that twists and slants may be the best way rush Ebukam right now. He gets his first sack of the season on an overload stunt. Overall, this is a fantastic job of rushing as a unit by the whole group. Arden Key does a great job of occupying the left guard long enough to allow Ebukam to clear; Armstead does the dirty work and plugs the middle.

The 9ers F.O aren't really good at evaluating talent It would seem. Either that, or they tend to overthink Things when It's comes to drafting/Signing/Re-signing players.

Q- How is Hyder playing this year? Compared to his breakout 2020 season?
