He was invisible at the start of the season but has started to make a few plays
I think moving Armstead inside has had a huge effect on the defense. We're now more stout inside and more athletic outside. Remember, even the Lions we're ripping off huge runs up the middle. Now that we've shut that down our edges are starting to feast (Bosa had 3 sacks last game).
Not to mention, we aren't running single high press man on 3rd downs anymore. QB's were just throwing it up against the single coverage and either coming down with it or getting PI... all before the rush even had a chance.
I think this shows that DeMeco is making adjustments & they're working. The defense has been much better since the Rams game, hoping Nick can get 6 sacks in the last 4 games to break the single season record for the 49ers.
Agree. It would be so cool for Bosa to get 6 sacks (in the next game )
Ebukam is a young guy, only 26 years old, and I'm hoping he continues to improve his game as the season wears on. If he does, he'll be able to free up Bosa for some more additional sacks. Omenihu's another guy that is trending up. He had two tackles recently and his snap counts are trending up also. Key's snap counts have dropped (when compared to the Raiders snap counts) but every sack from here on in, is breaking his all time career records.
Key snaps are down b/c they figured out he's not great rushing from the outside but does a lot better against guards on the interior. So he can only see the field on obvious passing downs b/c of that. Omenihu has been getting his snaps on the outside
