He disappeared as the season wenty on. You're saying he was injured? I don't remember him being on the pre-game reports.

He was injured for a good portion of the year actually. While I think $10M per is a bit much, cap goes up so does the contracts.

The story of this franchise for the last several years But I don't think we should get into a bidding war for him.

When it comes to DL, people need to focus less on stats and watch the tape. 3.5 of those sacks came in the first 5 games. Ebukam was playing at a really high level coming into the year and was going to have a massive season until the injuries derailed him. IMO, he's the most relentless player on the DL against the run and consistently moves the QB off the spot against the pass. He came into the year with a new speed rush and was smoking dudes with it until he sustained the quad/achilles/ankle injuries.

Ebukam is an ascending player in this scheme. I don't know about other teams, but I think he's worth the price tag for us.

I'm glad you were able to notice his play in early 2022. I didn't watch him closely so I didn't know. I knew he ended 2021 playing very well and I felt he improved a lot as 2021 went on. Perhaps his lackluster 2022 will allow the 49ers to retain him. I agree he is a stout run defender as a lightweight DE.

If we can get Khalil Mack, we should take that route. I think he's still have more value to any teams and it's going to cost us a lot of money to bid for Ebukam anyways.

I posted earlier about how I think injuries derailed him. We will see what happens. I wouldn't be shocked if a team pays 10 million +. With that said, if he gets it, that's another 2024 comp pick for us.

Ebukam has been pretty beat up this year. I figured he was a goner for big money in free agency. Maybe he still is, but if the money isn't what he thought he should get, I can see Ebukam back on a 1 year deal.
I don't think the 49ers will go after Mack. The price would be high, and they are finding someone cheaper in FA or the draft.

Agree
Money is always a key consideration.
I would rather put the money for Ebukam and a few others and get Purdy or Zadarius [sp] Smith from the Vikings - if possible.
Yeah no way the Niners were paying that. Unfortunetely it probally means Omenihu is gone also because he is worth just as much, if not more.

I don't even really understand what the Colts are doing.
Hes not worth that.
Davenport signed for 13m
There's some peeps out there for us still.
Going for that much you might as well just step up and get a big name in Clark, clowney, Quinn, or mack. Hell you might even be able to get one for that amount since they are at the tail end of their careers.

There's a ton of big names left out there at edge this year.

We are going to need somebody though if they lose omenihu also.
