I think it's a good pick up - he can play on ST and part time as a receiver. More bang for the buck.

I came for the "Championship!" quote.

That's one less draft pick that we need to use on a gunner in special teams and now we can go 6th round RB.

Probably get a thousand yard guy with a 6th rounder based on how Kyle's undrafted RBs turn out

yes, i think after the joe williams fiasco.. we found out we are very good at finding undrafted backs. that being said. i am more than fine with signing gire. now you still need a couple undrafted guys to take the pre season punishment to keep hasty mostert wilson and maybe gire fresh.

Apparently alot of Cardinal fans hate this. Says he was a very good special teams player and don't know why the Cards didn't keep him. From reading how Cardinal fans view him they don't mention him as a WR at all. Just a punt returner. So I am guessing that's what Lynch and Kyle got him for. To return punts and kickoffs since we have nobody good who can do that, Unless we use Aiyuk and I don't think Kyle wants to do that.

But... he basically didn't return punts or kickoffs. He has just one kick return in his career.

He was a gunner on their ST

QB / DB in high school, converted into WR and a solid contributor on ST, this will turn out to be a good signing.

Shanny must've been licking his chops when he became available... thinking of how he'll utilize him while dreaming up trick plays before the call was even made).
This guy reminds me of a Matthew Slater type from the patriots.

Sherfield looks like a linebacker.

Possession receiver, definitely looks the part!
If anything I hope he is a killer special teams player. A good ST unit is so underrated.
Sherfields looking like he had too much MrsFields
Personally I kind of hope a team wants Sherfield, and we trade him away for like a 7th round pick in a couple years, or just trade him for a guy with no guaranteed money that we can cut come cut down day and not take a cap hit. Sherfield was brought in to be a back end WR, but mainly to help on ST. We drafted a few guys who will be backups at different positions, yet help on ST. I want Sherfield gone, so it's that much easier for Watkins or Jennings to be our 5th WR, and the loser of that battle goes to the PS.

I am fine with a WR corp. of Samuel-Aiyuk-James-Hurd-Watkins/Jennings. There's going to be a roster crunch, and back end WR's are out there in droves like Sanu+Benjamin+many others. Those types of guys I would put on my PS probably only 1 or 2, most likely 2 if we keep 5 WR's on the 53.

Lol
This dude is the sleeper for locking up that #3 WR spot. It's Hurds to lose IMO, but just don't know what to expect health wise obviously. But I think Sherfield has an excellent shot making the roster with his ST value.
I dunno. Trent Taylor had twice as many catches last year so Sherfield will need to take a major leap forward.
