Dolphins Sign WR Trent Sherfield

I love these type of dudes that come out of nowhere, bust their ass, and make plays when presented an opportunity. Sherfield has kicked ass in camp and showing out in preseason. It looks like he's a lock for the final 53.

This dude is the sleeper for locking up that #3 WR spot. It's Hurds to lose IMO, but just don't know what to expect health wise obviously. But I think Sherfield has an excellent shot making the roster with his ST value.

Sanu is gonna be the slot guy.

I thought the route Sherfield ran was better than the pass that Lance threw on the 80 yard TD. Sherfield could be this year's Kerry Hyder. A "depth signing" that turns out to be a legit contributor. I'm pulling for him to be WR3 because of the speed he has over Sanu.

It damn nice route. He fought through a lot of contact at the LOS and did a good job of selling one way and going the other to get the free safety spun around.

Maybe. But if Sherfield keeps making plays? I want him over Sanu for these reasons as well

I think Sherfield already made the team.

For sure. The only question is whether he's WR3, 4, or 5. But he's definitely made the team and should be a ST ace and viable deep threat.
He should get a guaranteed roster spot because of the shirt in this video

Yeah, I thinks he'll be our WR4 - he reminds me a lot of John Taylor. Can't wait to see him play all year.

For those that never saw his training camp press conference, highly recommended watching it. Love this guy man, WR3

I believe the WR 3 definition is a myth.

Personally I kind of hope a team wants Sherfield, and we trade him away for like a 7th round pick in a couple years, or just trade him for a guy with no guaranteed money that we can cut come cut down day and not take a cap hit. Sherfield was brought in to be a back end WR, but mainly to help on ST. We drafted a few guys who will be backups at different positions, yet help on ST. I want Sherfield gone, so it's that much easier for Watkins or Jennings to be our 5th WR, and the loser of that battle goes to the PS.

I am fine with a WR corp. of Samuel-Aiyuk-James-Hurd-Watkins/Jennings. There's going to be a roster crunch, and back end WR's are out there in droves like Sanu+Benjamin+many others. Those types of guys I would put on my PS probably only 1 or 2, most likely 2 if we keep 5 WR's on the 53.

Hmmm…IDK…that was one helluva route he ran on that 50 yd TD that went for an 80 yd TD. I'd really prefer to keep him. Also as noted elsewhere, i think he's a lock for the 53. And since we have no idea what health Hurd will have, he's a keeper for me.
I have been noticing him in all the QB film clips, always making catches. Really like his camp

In his defense he wrote that in May lol. I was reading it thinking it was in jest until I seen the date.
