after this current corrective surgery, he will be good to go

Lol he didn't even think he had an injury or at least that's what he told the world on social media after getting defensive when asked about it
He knew, finally humbled up and is getting it fixed
He's been good lately

Where the heck is Armstead? A very bad decision to trade Bucker!

Agreed but hindsight is 2020 and that was last year.

Not really hindsight when literally everyone but Lynch knew that keeping Buckner and trading Armstead was the better option there. Still baffles me.

Exactly. The correct move was to let Armstead walk and extend Buckner who by all accounts said would have taken less than what colts gave him.

we weren't in a position to try and pull a belichik move. He would have done that but this regime hasn't proven s**t to do that. Pay your great players and let the one year wonders go.

In hindsight yes. But, had we nailed the Kinlaw pick(and who knows, maybe there is still hope) then wed all be saying it was a brilliant move. Armstead 12 overall(or whatever it was) vs Buck is more fair than simply Armstead vs Buck.

I'd disagree. Buckner was always available, was a leader, and produced from day 1. I figured if we kept Buckner we would lose Armstead and Ward. I was confident the team could replace both. Now from a business standpoint I get why they made the decision they made. And I like what Kinlaw has shown and an confident he can be more. Kocurek has gotten tons out of far less talented guys. So in the end I think the team will come out ahead, but most at the time were not on board with this.

Armstead is replaceable. Not easily but possible.
Im not sure there's another free safety that can do all that Ward can do. We'd have to change our defense a lot to accommodate a less versatile safety.

People like to hate but Ward and Tartt are really good. They just don't generate a lot of turnovers.

Not downgrading Ward. Just had faith in the team replacing Ward and Armstead verses replacing Buckner. With that said, I do think Kinlaw has the potential to offer more if he develops as a pass rusher.
We saw what happened when ward was out. He's not a flashy ball hawk (except against the rams!!) but he's a great fit for what we do up front. Still, there had to be a way to keep ward and Buckner. I'm not saying lynch was 100% wrong for looking at it the way he did at the time, but in retrospect it was the wrong move. I know we could've kept both!

Ward is a guy I'd consider extending in the offseason, when he's out there, the defense is so much better, same with K'Waun, just like when Kittle & Juice are out there, the offense is so damn good, doesn't hurt to have Deebo & Aiyuk too.

As for Buck, it wasn't gonna work out long term cap wise, we knew the cap was gonna go down, AA cost like $20M less in the first 2 yrs of the deal then Buck's first 2 years, we wouldn't have been able to keep Kittle, Warner, Trent, Juice, plus extend guys like Bosa, Deebo, & Aiyuk down the road without sacrificing some players, that's why in 2020 I don't think we could have afforded to keep him, and trade for Trent, and then re-sign both to big deals, it's why Jimmy being traded or released will have to happen, the team needs to have a QB on a rookie deal, not on a $27.5M+ a yr deal like Jimmy got.

As for Armstead, he's been really good, I don't see him being let go any time soon, I honestly think the 49ers will build around the following.

QB Trey Lance
RB Elijah Mitchell & Aaron Banks
FB Juice
WR Deebo Samuel & Brandon Aiyuk
TE George Kittle & Charlie Woerner
C Alex Mack(short term)
LG Laken Tomlinson(if extended), & Colton McKivitz
RG Aaron Banks
LT Trent Williams
RT Jaylon Moore (Don't have a clue what we'll do with McGlinchey, he was having a good year)
DE Nick Bosa & Arik Armstead
DT Javon Kinlaw
NT D.J. Jones
WLB Dre Greenlaw
MLB Fred Warner
SLB Azeez Al-Shaair
CB Emmanuel Moseley, Deommodore Lenoir, & Ambry Thomas, maybe K'Waun Williams(short term)
FS Jimmie Ward
SS Talanoa Hufanga

That's 27 players, I didn't count ST players, as the only one who I think is a multi-year extension guy is Mitch Wishnowsky, despite being a 4th rounder, he's one of the best punter's in the NFL. I also didn't put in guys like Jeff Wilson Jr., Jauan Jennings, Trent Sherfield, Daniel Brunskill, Mike McGlinchey, Samson Ebukam, Arden Key, Jordan Willis, Charles Omeninu, Kentavius Street, Kevin Givens, Marcell Harris, Tarvarius Moore, guys that I'm not 100% sure that the 49ers have plans for in the future, except maybe Omenihu.

Guys in bold are either guys at the top of their position, or guys who are just very good players, and good fits for this team. Obviously the stars of this team are Bosa, Kittle, Warner, & Trent, with Juice, Deebo, & Aiyuk right behind them. Guys like K'Waun, Ward, & Armstead just keep the defense going.

I'm confident that Kinlaw will be back stronger in 2022.

I basically went over who I think should or could be in the 49ers future or not.

Arden has flashed, he just needs more reps.

I think it's safe to say that Arden Key is pretty good at rushing from the interior. He totally smoked the left guard with the same double swipe move he's been landing in previous weeks.

Well, that was my point actually. Do you go with great Talent - but with an injury history, or do you go with good-but not great talent, but they don't have any injury issues or injury history? The argument can be made that a good-but not great talent, can become great as long as they remain healthy. In fact if a player has a medical history, then his draft value should be impacted in a similar fashion. What good is great talent if they are always injured? One of the greatest abilities of a player is availability.

Put me down for that…twice.

A super star and his scrub friends can dominate basketball because there are fewer players active at a time.

Football is a true team sport where the the entire offense/defense benefits from above average play at multiple positions.

Simply having players that do their job and don't screw up will result in a good team. That is basically the Patriot way of running things.

A football team is better with B players everywhere rather than A at one spot and D in a few other spots because a good coach exploits your weakness with scheme.

Like this one, too.
Arden Key just smoked another guard. Dude is a different player from inside.
LOL Key leaves 57 lunging at nobody. I saw the endzone angle, and he actually beats the left guard with a cross-chop.

Who do we resign this off-seaon?

Street or Key?

Both. But Key is my preference.

He's on a tear right now and is surprisingly better from the inside 😳 He was a millisecond from having a strip sack too
