He really is. I hope we can keep him longterm at a fair deal. He has been really good for us. I think we are two guys away from having an elite pass rush again. You need top guys like Bosa, but you also need guys like Key that can make plays here and there. He's doing essentially what I thought Jordan Willis would do for us this year. Hoping we can find some other underutilized or underdeveloped players to bring in.

Maybe it's buyer beware after the Kerry Hyder signing? I honestly hope the Seahawks cut him and we bring him back. Between Hyder, Key, and MAYBE Ebukam on a reduce salary, we'd only need one legit starter on the edge and hope that whenever Kinlaw plays for us, he can show more from the inside. Not quite 2019 level dominance in terms of pass rush, but we will be far better against the run than that 2019 team.

Was watching the ESPN highlights with Chris Berman and he's like "He got flagged for landing on the QB. Where's he supposed to land? SFO?"

It should be us, but yeah, you're right. Lynch will let him walk only to extend some garbage player like McGlinchey.
Compton is making McGlinchey look very expendable. But at the right price Mike is worth keeping.

The way we get hit with injuries, we need the extra depth. Especially with a 17 game season + an extended playoff run every year.
If Lynch plays his cards right he can build one a defensive line like the Eagles or Giants had during their superbowl runs.

Agree. They all look good, playing opposite of Bosa. Kocurek is a gem of a coach. That wide 9 is deadly when paired up with a OC like Kyle who can design an offense that can score from anywhere. Once the 49ers get a lead, the're like Bosa Constrictors - just squeezing until the opposing team is dead.
If they continue to get better, and they can, with Willis, Ebukam, and Key playing opposite of Bosa and garnering some double teams, leaving Bosa one on one, watch out, Bosa could be breaking Aldon's record.

Got to resign him.
Always been curious why we seem to never extend guys mid season

This crossed my mind also. Hopefully teams think to themselves "ahh another wide 9 coach K. system guy, we'll never get that production out of him"
Wishful thinking I know.

Got screwed by the refs on one play. But he is playing great football right now. We really needed someone else on the line to step up in rushing the passer. He is starting to be that player for us. Very sweet.

Based on what I said, I have Bosa, Armstead, Jones, a rookie edge rusher, Kinlaw, Key, Omenihu, Willis, and Hyder, which is already 9 guys. That leaves room for one or two more at best. My thoughts are that Ford will be on the roster, but I can't count him. I don't think Street will be resigned. I don't think it's realistic to expect more than one draft pick for the D-line. Would love to get Coach Kocurek some UDFAs with some upside and we can try to find next year's Kerry Hyder/Arden Key. The one legit starter is basically a solid number 2 rusher that can take advantage of one on one attention. Having that type of player that is available and consistent is going to help us turn it up as a pass rushing defense again that could resemble the Eagles or Giants teams you mentioned.
