Moving him to the inside has been solid.

Maybe it's buyer beware after the Kerry Hyder signing? I honestly hope the Seahawks cut him and we bring him back. Between Hyder, Key, and MAYBE Ebukam on a reduce salary, we'd only need one legit starter on the edge and hope that whenever Kinlaw plays for us, he can show more from the inside. Not quite 2019 level dominance in terms of pass rush, but we will be far beBut htter against the run than that 2019 team.
The way we get hit with injuries, we need the extra depth. Especially with a 17 game season + an extended playoff run every year.
If Lynch plays his cards right he can build one a defensive line like the Eagles or Giants had during their superbowl runs.
Based on what I said, I have Bosa, Armstead, Jones, a rookie edge rusher, Kinlaw, Key, Omenihu, Willis, and Hyder, which is already 9 guys. That leaves room for one or two more at best. My thoughts are that Ford will be on the roster, but I can't count him. I don't think Street will be resigned. I don't think it's realistic to expect more than one draft pick for the D-line. Would love to get Coach Kocurek some UDFAs with some upside and we can try to find next year's Kerry Hyder/Arden Key. The one legit starter is basically a solid number 2 rusher that can take advantage of one on one attention. Having that type of player that is available and consistent is going to help us turn it up as a pass rushing defense again that could resemble the Eagles or Giants teams you mentioned.
I'd love for us to get a DLine like the Eagles or the Giants, Kocureck is a gem of a coach. Berman's a great dude, love the fact that he gives the 49ers some attention. Most talking heads usually focus on the east coast teams.
Arden's definitely a keeper. We have Omenihu, I think, for another year or two. Defer to AB81 on that. But I also think 49ers can use a draft pick on that DLine, specially if they get a big draft haul for trading Jimmy. The draft haul on Jimmy could be *very* significant if he keeps playing well as he has recently.

I hope he doesnt break the bank though if he continues with this stellar play. We still need to resign Bosa. Maybe could free up some space if we let Ebukam go

Our secret weapon was signing Key and Norman. Key signings are becoming the norm and helping us win ballgames.

Funny thing is, people on the zone have been down on Jimmy, but league wide, knowing what you are getting- a solid starter that has had a net positive effect on the teams he has led, is worth a 2nd IMO. Even a 2nd and another day 2 or 3 pick, considering what other QBs have netted. His new contract also shouldn't take up nearly as much cap space compared to where the cap is expect to go. He is in that tier of QBs between a Derek Carr and where prime Alex Smith used to be. Historically teams with great defenses and strong running games did not have as good of a QB as Jimmy is (think the 2000s Ravens and Bucs). A GM and coach with a clear vision can make that work and not have to invest the high draft capital that you normally have to invest to get a top QB. If I am the Giants, Steelers, Broncos, Washington Football Team, Panthers, or Eagles I'd inquire.

My philosophy is to draft Dline every single year, but this year we need a corner or two badly. QB's are launching jump balls at our outside corners before the rush even has a chance, knowing they're either going to catch a deep ball or get a PI call.

The zone is trippin', Jimmy has a few elite traits. Most "average" starters don't.
Inside 20 yards he's a top 5-7 QB.
He's way better than the Baker Mayfield's, Carson Wentz's and Teddy Bridgewater's of the world.

If Jimmy could get those interception percentages to around 1%, I'd say a first round pick for him. He definitely has some top -10 QB traits, but the faults lower him to middle of the pack. He's in the third tier which is still good and you can win with a guy like that. I listed several teams that should be inquiring, particularly those teams that don't want to fall into the no man's land of not having a QB. That kind of reality will cost a coach their job.

I'd like to think he's as good as he's shown....especially inside...but I think we've all seen too many guys 'ball out' with a potential massive payout on the horizon.

That lightbulb came on and he's been stellar. That heat was still on Ryan even when Bosa came out for a few plays.
Yup. Moving both he and AA inside clearly is far more natural and productive. Kinlaw better slim down and learn how to become an ER now. LOL

In the last 3 games, here are the NFL leaders in PFF's Pass-Rushing Productivity.
— Akash Anavarathan (@akashanav) December 20, 2021
1. TJ Watt, 17.4
2. Nick Bosa, 14.1
3. Arden Key, 13.4 (!!!)
Key has been such a value signing for SF and a beautiful coaching job by Kris Kocurek.

Lol me too I was watching Saints sack Brady every time I was like wait he used his body weight
To have such a Key moment like that taken away that just ruined me. I'm still not over the Ahmad Brooks on Brees foul.
