Idk. They spent big money on Dupree and Jeffrey Simmons will be eligible for a extension as well. Simmons has been a game wrecker in the middle. I can see Landry hitting the open market

An edge rusher with no off field issues? 25 or 26 years old? Not gonna happen.

Or if it does happen, its going to be another Dee Ford cap hit situation, with multi-millions in dead cap and an injury history as long as your arm.

There is a reason Fat Andy let the 49ers sign Dee Ford.

Yeah, talented edge rushers aren't just allowed to walk. Minus Khalil Mack (but that was the Raiders lol).

At any rate, I will say Dee Ford has given us an archetype of the perfect pass rusher opposite of Bosa. We got burned bad. Really bad on this, but at the same time, I don't think we make our run in 2019 without him. Dee Ford's presence also destroyed the idea that you need a high volume of snaps to be productive. At any rate, this era of could've/should've Moneyball is over (we hope). Hoping we prioritize this on day 2 (unless we somehow net a 1st for Jimmy). Edge rusher and corner please.

Absolutely agree. I'll take what he's drafting... Edge rusher and corner too, please.

Ogbah, 28, from Miami. Seven sacks, 21 QB hits. Kemoko Turay of the Colts also an UFA.
Key is not even 26, I would not mind just resigning him.

I like Kemoko Turray, but he's another player that just can't seem to stay healthy

Yeah, definitely had enough of that with Ford.
We should lock this guy up before the price tag goes up.

I recall some people saying we should dump Key. He's playing better as the season goes on. 5 sacks isn't bad for a guy that's splitting time. They've been moving him inside on occasion and his speed is a mismatch for the guards.

dude is showing up for sure, compared to the fist half of the season.

They got $11M in cap space in 2022. They are going to have to do some serious cap gymnastics. They should have never signed Bud Dupree.

Agree, that's why if the 49ers do trade Jimmy, it's not because they don't like him and don't want to keep him. I'm betting it's probably 85% the reason would be Cap reasons.

That would be a Key move.
Arden Key lined up over the left guard and absolutely smokes his ass. This is the rush I referenced a few pages back. The dude is unreal from inside.

Exactly this. And, the Falcons get the TD there and it's 24-17. Key is coming on since moving inside.

I love how the outside rush of Ebukam and Willis force Ryan to step up right into the rush of Key.
Biggest surprise for me. I didn't not see anything from Key in college and now he's playing productively! Good for him.

Kocurek has an eye for DLine talent, that I think he's somehow helped the pro- and college personnel people in the front office to acquire. On top of that, Kyles father had some awesome DLines himself on his two super bowl runs. It's pretty cool how the coaching staff is getting and developing all these hidden gems into super stars. Still in awe that Kendrick Bourne and Matt Brieda are still kicking butt in the NFL, same with BeatHard and Mullens. That means that when they trade Jimmy, ShanaLynch can ask for the 9moon because good chance that the player has been taught and developed well enough to operate in any offensive system in the NFL.

It's weird. He plays bigger, stronger, faster than his combine measurements suggest. He also was never this good before. So maybe playing opposite Bosa helps him. Bosa getting the double teams. Still I hope we can re sign him. But I doubt we will be able to afford it.

He also played for the f**king raiders so that was an automatic uphill battle for him. I honestly thought we'd get more out of hurst then Key but we all know how that went. Just glad we got the better end of the whole Solomon Thomas, Hurst/Key pick ups.
