Ebukam costing 8 mil next year with potential 6.5mil savings if we cut/trade. If Key's price is reasonable I would prefer him over Ebukam.
Just depends on what others are willing to pay and whether Key is only interested in maximizing his value.

Key has to know that being here with Kocurek is a big reason he is excelling. That is why him and Hurst wanted to come here in the first place. Look at Kerry Hyder last year to this year. But Key deserves to get whatever he can, so he might choose the money. And there is nothing wrong with that.

Cut Ford with June 1st tag, and you save $7M right there. I'd do that, force Ebukam to restructure, and then resign Key and DJ Jones.

Key is a must re-sign along with DJ Jones and Tomlinson. He's still young and just scratching the surface. He'll be playing at a Pro Bowl level if he continues to develop under Kocurek.

Key makes Armstead look much more effective. Best player to play alongside Armstead since DeForest Buckner.

Id have him take a pay cut. Didn't we do that to Carlos Rogers after the 2012 season? Ebukam has come on strong, but he is still a role player and he doesn't have a role player salary. Would be wise for him to do it as well. One or two more years in this system and some GM is going to be fooled into giving him an even bigger contract. Much like us with Tully Banta-Cain once upon a time.

Well, he wasn't very good at edge, so can't really toot your own horn.
I think he had 1 sack all season at edge and that was when he got matched up on a tight end.But the dude has been a force from inside. He's been a massive upgrade as a pass rusher over Javon Kinlaw. Who foresaw Kinlaw getting hurt would actually be the key(no pun intended) to unlocking our pass rush?
Key's win rate from inside has been unreal.

Any chance Ford retires? Would be the honorable thing to do and best for his long term health. Would his entire salary come off the books? Would be a big boost towards signing our guys.
